I miss playing pool for money

I know for a fact, that the most money I ever made playin pool was when I was a part time bouncer at a bar that had a few barboxes. It gave me the opportunity to survey ANYONE that got on the table, and when my shift was over, I would go clean up.

It was an easy 40-60 a night on top of what I made from the house as a bouncer.

I have been reading "RHEA" threads since the begininng and I thought cool somebody chasing a dream lets see how they do. Now I realize she is in a nightmare whith no waking end in sight:(


Here is a funny story: 23 years ago I wanted to gamble playing pool so my wife said "ok" here is $5.00 when you lose it you don't get no more! well I turned that $5.00 into Thousands:grin:

I started of with $1.00 a game and so on until I built up my bank role $10 at a time until I graduated to $20 a set and so on, but I never spent a dime of my family's money because I didn't have much while I was lower enlisted in the Army. Sure I lost some but I have kept that going now all this time. I have been a smart gambler, I have paid for a lot of things with my gambling fund: Many pool sicks, bills that were due, a nice camping trailer, a few vacations to Gerogia, Texas, ETC, my pool lessons with Scott Lee and Mark Wilson. I fund all of my tournament expenses from this as well. There is more that I am forgetting but I always try to keep a little in that account to keep the fire burning.

Is that an assumption or have you tried several of the girl regulars here? I can scrape up some action if it is an assumption as I know a couple who would play you. Please advise as operators are standing by.
 
it seems to me that with a town the size of st louis that nobody would have trouble finding action...especially cheap action.

i am not into the gambling scene at all here in memphis at all but i see or hear of action on a pretty regular basis. i am talking about league players here.

one of my team mates " apa 6 " took 1,000.00 one night playing another apa 6 in 10 ball.

another team mate took 400.00 one night after league playing 9 ball for 20.00 a rack. it all started during league when one guy tells another guy he bet 20.00 he could not win his match lol.

seen 2 apa 5's match up 20.00 a rack 9 ball and about 200.00 change hands.

heck i was asked to keep score for 2 guys playing apa 9 ball race to handicap between a s/l 7 and a s/l 6 for 20.00 bucks a match lol.

there are plenty of people that will gamble but no one wants to give their money away.....well except this one guy who i played 8 ball against in napa league. after i won the match 5-1 he challenged me in 9 ball for 20.00 a rack lol.

There is only one 24 hour poolroom on the eastern half of Missouri, it is the only place I go to since I currently do not have a car and I get unlimitted free pool there.

But I can assure you, I am there more than any of their employees as they will all confirm. And action in these proportions are rare. When action does come through I can play on my own or get staked by the house trust me. But people do not like playing me on the 9 footer, I am the most consistant grinder on their 9 footer.

Have ever been to the Millerberg tournament off of 70? If not you should come you can get all the action you want there with people that play your speed!

I will try any of the local girls there except for Jessica, but I can't even get there right now, i'm actually trying to save up enough money for a bus ticket to Vegas to go out there and live for a while. As long as I stay in the pool rooms and in pool tournaments and off of the casino floor I should be fine.

The bus ticket from STL to Las Vegas is over $350 so I probably want to grind out $1000 before I leave here.

I don't have a car. If someone were to provide a round trip ride for me I will play, otherwise why not have her come out here? I've seen her travel as far as Cahokia before at least so Barnhart should be no problem.

Instead of going to Vegas how much will you need to play for in Des Moines to go that route instead? I can make it happen, but you will need to post the action (as will my horse). I have one for sure I will put in the box with you...working on possibly another 1-2. Let me know as I am dead serious.

Well, it has been suggested that I could grind a minimum of $75 a day playing B players even in Vegas. I could also play in several local tournaments there and they have seven 24 hour pool rooms in vegas. For someone my speed who is homeless, that sounds like a winning opportunity.

My endocronologist told me not to fly but I might take the risk anyway to save that much money. Thanks for letting me know I never knew flying was cheaper than a greyhound.

.....or you could go bust playing guys like Jumpin Joe posing as APA 6's. I would be willing to bet (no pun intended) Vegas has more monsters hiding in the shadows than most cities.
