I appreciate the effort, but I honestly gave up on this thread when it was moved to this forum. How about this, Robin?
If you would like to continue the history of The CTE Wars, lets start a new thread about it (in this sub-forum, heh heh) and leave Dr. Dave's thread to it's original intent.
Deal?
I promise, Doc, that I will dig into your stuff and make comments afterward. I've always valued the material you create and provide here.
I appreciate the effort, but I honestly gave up on this thread when it was moved to this forum.
If you, Robin, or others really want to study the past CTE "debates" to judge "history" for yourself, here are the main epic CTE threads (AKA "train wrecks") from the past:
Why CTE is silly
CTE aiming.
A long comment on "aiming systems"
CTE/ PRO ONE with Stan Shuffett
Enjoy,
Dave
It is unfortunate. Most threads in the aiming forum turn into train wrecks involving CTE. It would be nice if people could discuss the topic of the thread instead of being attacked by CTEers. There was a good thread by plfgr about his system and an ebook. Stan constantly attacked him and the thread died. Pretty much the same thing which is happening here. Not everyone uses CTE and some of us want to learn about other systems........

You are dead wrong.....
No attack by me anywhere in this thread or elsewhere. You are trolling, sir .
Stan Shuffett
Seriously? Stan's name comes up in a thread (not by his own doing) and he only speaks up to defend himself, all the while being probed into a typical "prove it" argument, and now he is the attacker? I agree this is not on-topic and should not be in this thread, but this "CTE-er attacker" stuff gets completely out of hand sometimes. :shakehead:

Just read through that thread if you don't remember what you posted. The thread had absolutely nothing to do with CTE. You argue with everyone who doesn't use CTE saying you are superior. CTE is not for everyone. To be honest the main reason I never bought your dvd is because of how you act towards other posters who don't use CTE.
The fact remains: no attack occurred by me in this thread.
You are simply trolling.
Stan Shuffett

Read through the thread I just linked. If you truly believe he wasn't the instigator there then I will quit posting.
He's talking about this I think...http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=356582
And it sure looks like you started with him...shame on you.![]()
Banks, You say I am a liar.
You say I am full of crap.
Then you red rep me.
Please, Mods, take notice of Banks. He is a constant CTE hater and troll.
He is one reason that CTE content can no longer be presented here by this poster.

Im heading out to play pool in a minute so I will check for a reply likely tomorrow but I wanted to add something here.
Myself and Justadub were having a nice objective conversation about the past Aiming Wars when Stan came in with 4 individual posts like he had been attacked when he certainly hadn't.
What I don't understand about this or any other thread where the words CTE are used is why you have to be so defensive? No one was ragging on CTE when you showed up this time. So I have to surmise that you aren't going to allow objective conversation or healing from the Aiming Wars. You want to keep it going, you want to discredit everything except CTE and it seems to me that you want the approval of Academics and you are beating up the populace because he wont give it.
Why don't you lighten up and just go with the fact that non of us care about all of that mess and sell your stuff to the people who want instead of trying to beat your version of aiming into everyone else.
I apologize to everyone for having an objective conversation on a pool forum about a Aiming System in the Aiming Forum which resulted in this.
This is an ugly display of what I think I knew to start off with and that is where the true issue is and its not located on the Naysayer side, its been proven to me that its located in the defensive and attack tactics used on members of this forum.
What is wrong with CTE being just what it is and everything else being what it is and we all sharing conversation about it.....isn't this a pool forum.
Well have a nice night I'm out to play one pocket and watch the sun come up. I think Im going to take a serious look at gearing shots using the 40% rule for them and also go over 2 and 1/3 parallels. Pool is a great game and a joy to do with friends. Why cant we all just get along? I mean really!
I also hope the mods notice your posting history in reference to me.
You are another primary reason that I do not post CTE content here any longer.
Stan Shuffett
Never was intended.....Im all about NEW ideal's.
You showed your's and just went to far with the claims and demestrations.
Was on your side for awhile..
You and who ever can beleive your houdini magical system all you want.
I like to to keep things real and easy to explain. No need to travel to another dimension.![]()
Again, in case people got lost in this thread and didn't see the original intent, here are the free clips available from Bob Jewett and I for you viewing pleasure:
NV E.1 - Fractional-Ball Aiming, from HAPS I
NV E.2 - Back-Hand (BHE) and Front-Hand English (FHE), from HAPS I
NV E.3 - Using "Gearing" Outside English to Eliminate Throw, from HAPS I
NV E.4 - Carom-Shot Trisect-Draw System, from HAPS II
NV E.5 - Combination Shot Throw Adjustment, from HAPS II
NV E.6 - Rail Cut Shot Aiming, w/ and w/o Sidespin, from HAPS II
NV E.7 - Mirror Kick-Shot Aiming System, from HAPS III
NV E.8 - 1/3-More-Than-Twice Bank-Shot Aiming System, from HAPS III
Again, these clips have nothing to do with CTE (any of the versions out there), SEE, 90/90, or any other pivot-based or other cut-shot "aiming system." They simply demonstrate clear and easy-to-understand pool common sense (and a few useful shot-making "systems" along the way).
Enjoy,
Dave
I feel sorry for yourself and Bob. Clearly a lot of work has gone into this and not only was it moved into this section immediately (god knows why), but as with everything in here it has veered off into a CTE slagging match.Again, in case people got lost in this thread and didn't see the original intent, here are the free clips available from Bob Jewett and I for your viewing pleasure:
