SVB vs. Jason Shaw race to 100 10ball - Sept 12-13

Shaw's skills seem on par with SVB's. The difference is that Shaw tends to lose focus after a set-back. It's like he'll get up there and one-stroke a shot like he doesn't care.

I think the difference between the two is more emotional than skill.

If it's rack your own, Shaw is a heavy underdog. Neutral racket, on the other hand, and Shaw has a chance. Still, either way, Shane is the pick here.

Would you like to post some cash? I don't care how they rack em, you got a 10 game spot in a race to 100. If Jayson gets to 90 you win

Make it interesting.... Sub shaw for Mike dechaine.... Shaw doesn't stand a chance...

If the race was shorter, maybe to 7,,, I would agree! Mike can't handle long races, especially with an animal like Shane! Not knocking his game, he's just not a player for long sets! Mike can smash anyone in the world in short sets! NOT long races!

Neither would Mike Dechaine.

You want an actual match sub Shaw for Ko Pin Yi, or Wu Chia Ching, or Jun Ling Chang. Any one of those guys would prove "really" tough in a race to 100 like this for SVB.

The Taiwanese proved their top gear is lethal at the CSI event in Vegas this year and Ko breaks every bit as good as SVB, if not better.

Shaw has no chance in this. SVB will steamroll him and everyone will be amazed at how good SVB is and how "no one" can beat him in long sets. There are guys that can give SVB everything he can handle and then some, but Shaw is not that guy and after he gets down he will go into "give-up" mode and shoot fast and dumb shots and get beat very badly.

You're preaching to the choir when talking about the Taiwanese. I've been watching them longgggg before Vegas and was telling people that Shane is gonna be in trouble if ko breaks like he is capable of. When I brought up miked I was speaking of a comparable player that is on the east coast(mike's stomping grounds). Shane is no doubt a monster when it comes to any type of race of 10ball but to say 'no one' can beat Shane in a long set is ridiculous. The Lion will have something to say about that statement.

Shane Van Boening vs. Jason Shaw
race to 100 10ball
$5,000 winner take all.

Castle Billiards in East Rutherford, NJ Sept 12-13.

Streamed by AZBTV.

Who do you like?

This is a tough one to put a line on. Real world SVB -10 or -11 should be about right. Set could end as much as -50 if things go right!!! My fellow countryman is a monster no doubt about that, but how do bet against SVB?

-11? I'll take SVB giving 11 on the wire....;)

I like Shane on race to 100 by 10+.

Race to 25, best of 3 is a better IMO. It'll make the match much more intense towards the end of each set.

Race to 100, score could be 22-20 and each individual game at that point of time doesnt have the same intensity and pressure.

SVB has already given Deshane the chinese water torture treatment...Shaw plays good at castle billiards. If he keeps Shane away from the table he has a bit of a chance. I would like his chances better if the race was a lot shorter though. Shane is very tough to beat in the long race format.

No pressure. They are not risking anything.
If nothing's at risk, there's no pressure.
Complete freeroll.

If Shane is willing to come to snookers, I'll play a set for 3-5k alternate break 10-ball. Race to 17 or 21.

The only advantage SVB has is ability to cancel all noise around him, a huge boost for concentration, Snookers tends to be noisy, If both of you can play in a back room, that is quite! then i'd say the last game will be the decider between both of you up to about race to 25..obviously pool God has the upper hands too!

This I'd like to see. I'm not so sure Shane could get there in that location in that format/race.

It's not that long of a drive from NJ to RI took me a bit over 3 hours from central MA where I am directly North of Snookers. I'd drive 3 hours for a 3k+ match where I have an even chance to win.

Hopefully someone gets this to Shane.
