I sure would have. 'cept the stream was so choppy I probably would have had an epileptic fit if I continued watching.
I tried watching the previous days' play too, but again, no dice.
I know it's free, and I do thank UpState Al, but for Chrissakes, all future streamers, find a new streaming partner and dump Ustream into the phucking ocean where it belongs. This is the reason why I will never pay for streaming again, until it is proven to me in advance that it won't be a p.o.s. Been burned too many times.
Just because it's free, does not mean it has to be poor quality. If you don't have the proper equipment, budget, streaming partner, whatever, please do me a favor and stay home. Or put a "low-quality" disclaimer up front, so I can avoid the aggravation.
And please don't reply to this thread by telling me I should have downloaded Chrome, or lowered the resolution, or uploaded my anus in Ubuntu while holding the rabbit ears at a 45-degree angle. I don't care if it worked for you. It was crap all weekend for most of us.
 
If he would have stayed home like you suggest, I, along with many others would not have enjoyed a great stream to a great tournament. Maybe you should ask for your money back. Oh wait...
 
This weekend I was able to watch the stream with great quality and trouble free from:

1. My work computer on a wired network.
2. My cell phone on T-Mobile network.
3. My tablet connected to various Open WiFi networks.
4. My home computers on WiFi and wired (Comcast).

I did see that others were having problems but I am really curious what is really causing the issues. The one thing that we all have in common is that UStream was the host. One of the variables that changes between users is network/internet providers.

for some reason the new chat on ustream had scripting issues
that caused the video to lag when the amount of viewers
got high a few times my chat server stopped and my stream
worked great i have watched 100s of pool streams and never had
this problem before ustream changed the chat interface this week
 
For the most part, the stream was smooth. It's likely your computer or connection. There were a few annoying issues once in a while, and the last stream on the last few shots of the finals got hosed for some of us, but otherwise there were hours of smooth video yesterday and today.

When you are trying to watch HBO, and then your TV malfunctions or your cable provider goes down, it's not HBOs fault.

way to many people had issues for it to be a computer or connection
some had great streams some didnt so it was not AZBtv it has to be
a ustream issue hope they fix it
 
it was a little choppy yesterday, but today was great. I was watching it on my phone from the golf course

thats right everybody that watched on phones and tablets
had good streams the people that had problems were on laptops and home
computers thats why it has to be ustream

Every time I logged into Ustream to watch, it was perfect.

I used Google Chrome with Ad Block installed on a MacBook Pro laptop.

I also watched on my phone and my IPad glitch free! Shaw played insanely good!! That dude is for real. His opponents had no chance, he just crushed Mika. Excellent cueball control safeties and shotmaking. I was super impressed👀👈

I agree, not cool.

I watched on my laptop, desktop, mini Ipad and my phone with very little problems. I realize some had problems but it was all good at 8,000 feet.

Thanks to all involved with this event and the live stream.
 
It was unwatchable on my Alienware laptop in IE. I switched to Google Chrome and it was perfect all day.
 
it's completely hit and miss with ustream and pool streams. I am in one of the most challenging places ever to watch ustream. China where it's blocked.

some days I can get a good connection if I happen to hit the right combination of VPN and censors napping. other times it's beyond frustrating.

that said I once gave away my access to a tar match on audio video Web because nothing I did worked while I was in the usa on a cable modem. conversely in china all ppv using avw works almost perfectly because it's not blocked.

honestly there isn't much Al can do if the casino is providing all the bandwidth they can. then it's either ustream or the end user.

I watched on a Mac Book Pro. On Saturday it was fine even when there was over 1150 in viewers. Sunday same computer from
same place and the stream was horrible most of the time I attempted to watch, which wasn't long because it was so frustrating.

I am a die-hard fan and I never thought I'd say this but I'm almost ready, to just give up on watching
pool streams all together. It's just to annoying never knowing if, when, or for how long a certain stream will work.

Same here, with the exception of the Mac. I watched it via Google Chrome with AdBlock on a PC with Windows 7 OS. :)

Perfect stream with no buffering or freezing whatsoever. I watched the Jayson v. Earl match.
 
Thank you for the validation itsfroze. Apparently the idiots here didn't understand when I said to not bother telling me that their streams worked perfectly. That's not the point. My point was that people like me and you and probably countless others are at the point that it isn't worth it to watch streaming events because their is no guarantee of quality. And what is it with saying over and over about not complaining about free material? If someone fed you free dog crap for dinner, why wouldn't you complain? That is slave mentality.

It could be your Internet connection. Mine sometimes seems to lose power from time to time, with no warning. I upload and download audio and video recordings on a daily basis. Sometimes they go lightning fast, uploading a 60-minute audio recording in 2 minutes, and then, without any warning, my Internet connection seems to go on the blink, slowing down, and my FTP states that same 60-minute audio recording will take 5 hours to upload.

I used to think it was when my computer was backing up my hard drive to my backup drive or when my antivirus software was scanning. Not sure.

It's a shame you call people "idiots" on this thread, but there seems to little to no moderation on AzBilliards these days. The website administration does not want to offend anyone, I guess.

Some of us were just letting other readers of this thread know that the live stream was okay for us.

Have you ever check your bandwidth on a free test before? I have done that. When my computer was slow uploading, I did a bandwidth test and immediately discovered my speed was not up to what it normally is. Then, without any rhyme or reason, the bandwidth suddenly went back to normal again.

I just did a bandwidth test just now, and I am at 35 Mbps for downloading and 8.06 Mbps for uploading. I wish I could speed up my uploading. :(

I think Ustream is the main live-stream vehicle these days.

I was watching a live webcast of a Federal Government entity last week that was being broadcast live via Ustream. I had no problem. Meanwhile, five or six viewers commented that the feed was choppy and they couldn't get it. Here are few comments:

I don't think your current bandwith adequately supports the 28,000+ people trying to view the hearing. We can only view one second snippets at a time.

Did you film this with a toaster?

Meanwhile, I watched the entire thing, without a glitch. Go figure! :grin-square:
