World Cup of Pool Predictions

Just as a matter of interest...how was Earl selected to be on the team?
I believe SVB asked Earl to be his partner. They both respect each other's game so I think that they will make a great team. Furthermore, both will be coming fresh off of the Turning Stone Classic 9-Ball Open. Finally, SVB almost always plays with his hearing aids turned off so I doubt if Earl will be much of a distraction for him.

Is there someone else that you'd rather see SVB play with? He played with Johnny Archer last year and they lost 7-6 to Japan in Round 2.

In my opinion, Klatt and Morra would be a stronger Team Canada.

You think Klatt is better than Alex? I know Alex hasn't been playing as much lately, but when he is focused he is one of the best players in the world

already covered this on a different thread but apparently it was svb's choice because he there is nobody else worthy. ( I do not agree) think earl is a black spot on the game and his selection is embarrassing for team US

I like PI, Holland, England A, Chinese Taipei,

Yes, Alex is better when he's playing, but Klatt is better right now. Remember, Morra and Klatt came second and third in the Derby City 9-ball this year.

Klatt is playing great right now, not seen much of Alex lately, I think Klatt has overtook Morra on current form even. They are strong team.

Don't see Philippines winning it again this year since almost impossible to win back to back. Some more I see some tensions in the Orcullo-Lee Van combo last year
IMHO Philippines will be in semi finals together with England (either A or B) , Chinese Taipei and Germany. Winner will be one of the 2 perennial underachievers Chinese Taipei or England who have never won the Cup before:)

I find it odd that Thailand would be seeded over a team like Russia's Stepanov/Chinakhov.

Obviously this is team doubles event and not just about individual ability. Not just simple 1+1=2. Two top players combined can be lesser than 2.lesser players combined
If the team jives and have chemistry and synergy, 1+0.8 can be more than 1+1
:)

I have Philippines going to the finals so hopefully Chile doesn't pull off an upset.

I'm hardcore rooting for the Chilean team right now... The underdog factor has kicked in.
They are one rack away from hill-hill vs. the #1 seed.

This is fun to watch. Good format.

And just as soon as I hit "submit." Chile scratches on the break and leaves a roadmap table.
