Palmer Case? Yes/No

I have Collected Palmers since they began building Cues & supplying Cases.
This Case, IMHO, could never be a Palmer offering.
 
I can't imagine Palmer putting their name on that crappy case back in those days.
The seller is kind of a goof, maybe he found some cheap imported case with the Palmer name on it, made for one of those $89 Palmers.
Stranger things have happened.

He also states the 1st Catalog #6 Cue has Irish Linen.
All of my 1st Cat. Cues have Cortland Wrap.
 
I chatted with the seller and his responses were short and limited to referring me to the 1x1 case shown in the First Catalog holding the Model 1 cue.

This doesn't resemble that case at all and to me doesn't look any different than an generic box case. I will look at the pics again, but I don't believe "Palmer" appears on this case.

I would say no. I had a number of Palmer cases and they were very well made. Stitching, luggage type handles, metal reinforced corners, locking snaps. Not to mention most had Palmer printed on the case. That case looks like a cheap import.

The cue looks pretty good, and I think it's Cortland, but hard to tell from those pics.
The best pic showing the wrap seemed to have that Cortland tone the I look for

I don't mean to be 'nit picky' but in 1965 the term "Irish linen" was used to describe any and all of those fishing line wraps - whether it was actually from Erin or no.

FWIW - linen on a Palmer in 1965 was a really big deal - Dacron was the material
that came for free.
