US Open Break & Run % Is Too Low

The Return to Pool Playing for the Pros!

The break rules have brought back true skills of the players. It has balanced the importance of the break and overall play. Just watching a player break with an easy layout cheats us all from seeing all of the player's abilities. We get to see a true battle.

I enjoyed of watching Shane show his overall game against Dennis. It was a phenomenal showing. And his defense was amazing. AND NOW I CAN'T ATTRIBUTE HIS DOMINANCE TO MERELY HIS BREAK!

Then Jay comes here to AZB to take a poll as Barry asked him to, then the format change way too close to the start of the event. They cry before the tournament & the format changes, as the dust settles they're out & still crying. It's things like this that make me not give a twirl about the European WPA players opinion. The truth is most players in this tournament didn't like the format change.

The irony, when Niels won the worlds event, they did break with the nine on the spot.

I don't think any of the first group you mentioned here break as well as SVB, Appleton, Dennis or Lee Van. Larry may break harder, but not better. And, as you mentioned, they also don't play overall as well as the others.

I like Jay's break and run rules. If I changed anything it would be to make the break box 4" to 6" to make it even harder to make the one ball and wing ball. Johnnyt

Just have a small D like they do in snooker....works for them just fine.
