Hi guys,

Looking for the slow motion video of a cueball hitting an objectball frozen on the rail twice and showing the objectball does not leave the rail. Thanks!

Can't find it but I know I have seen it somewhere.

It's among Dr. Dave's videos.

The object ball goes into the rail about 10mm on a hard, direct shot. The cue ball usually drifts forward slightly during the time the OB is in the cushion due to its inelasticity and so the OB usually meets the cue ball for the second hit while the OB is still in the cushion. The situation changes if the OB and CB are different weights, but I think there is no combination of masses and elasticity that gets the OB to return to the cushion.

I do have a YouTube video up of a shot where the OB is kissed back to the cushion with follow on the cue ball but the OB starts a ball off the cushion.
