Custom cue from a local cue maker in Northern Illinois

I just wanted to show (anyone that cares to see) pictures of this custom cue that I just purchased.

I do not know the cue makers name, but he is from a small town in Northern Illinois I think.

Anyway, please reply with your comments on what you think about the cue (and please be honest).

I just want to know what others think about the looks of the cue, and if it looks like a good quality cue.

Thanks for your opinions about the cue.

To be honest I really like the cue
Very cool, congrats>
You've been looking for the right cue, maybe this is the one

I really like this one.Brown color looks great. There are many cues here that look very close to others and to some cues from the past, but this one certainly not.
Congrats and hope it plays as good as it looks like:smile::cool::smile:

Thanks for the nice comments. I was told that it was made from a Schmelke cue blank, but I did not see any that looked similar on their site (http://schmelkecue.com/cue-making-supplies/cue-butt-blanks.html). I am curious if any of the known (and well respected) cue makers use Schmelke cue blanks for their cues? I already know that this cue was not made by any of the known cue makers, but I was just curious about that. I assume that most of the nationally known cue makers build their own blanks, so they do not need to order cue blanks from anyone. Thanks.

Schmelke makes great blanks
Many cuemakers use Schmelke for various blanks, even sending them the wood to use.

No, Chis Whitaker lives in Anna (which is in Southern Illinois), and I think that the person that made this cue lives in the Dixon IL area (which is in Northern Illinois). I would love to have a Whitaker cue someday. He was taught by my favorite cue maker, Mike Durbin (who is another great cue maker from Illinois). By the way, I updated the pictures of the cue. I am really happy with the feel, hit, balance (and everything else). It hits very nice, and solid. It screws on very tight (which I am sure is a good thing). Very nice hitting cue in my opinion.

Is it Chris Whitaker? Tommy D.

Jeez I'm on here all the time and I've never searched for my own stuff. LOL.

Yes that is a Schmelke blank. I order them with the point crotch higher than normal to cut in half for jump breaks. That one was a special request from a teammate. Bocote and maple.

Hope you still like the cue.
