Happy 239th Birthday to the USMC

Oldi but a good one.

Perfect email on the birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Oorah!!!

A United States Marine was taking some college courses between assignments. He had completed 20 missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist.
A United States Marine was taking some college courses between assignments. He had completed 20 missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "GOD, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform...

I'll give you exactly 15 min."

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting."

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.

The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.
The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, "What in the world is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"

"GOD was busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid shit and act like an idiot. So He sent me."

I'm going to celebrate by making a date with my favorite retired Marine Sargeant this weekend. First have dinner together on Friday night, then tea on Sunday. I even cancelled my Individual 9-ball pool league make-up match so I can be her escort to a ladies' tea on Sunday.

Oohrah!

I had an invite to ride mountain bikes on the grounds of quantico about a moth ago with one of my marine buddies and it was pretty cool.

The trails roll though training grounds and he was pointing out all kinds of historical things that I never would have observed alone.

I never served, I was a very different person between 18-30, but part of me wishes I had contributed in some fashion. Thanks to all those who did and do.

Happy B Day. And if there is any USMC on here thanks for all that u do.

You Don't need to thank us Sir. We are proud to Serve Our Country. I volunteered to get in and to go to Nam.

Anyone pre 1966 joined up. Nobody twisted my arm and I was a 1967 Marine. Just saying.
