Since this isn't the For Sale Section, I guess it's permissible to post this......$8k for that cue? Not unless the seller was holding a gun to the buyer's forehead.
I was not attempting to compare the minutia of the cue-making of Bob versus Randy. I was offering an analogous comment about the seller's asking price for
that specific Mobley cue, not that Bob was better than Randy.
Come on.....Get 4 gorgeous cues with much nicer designs that are also absolutely great hitting cues from Bob Owen vs just that one Mobley cue which isn't
that handsome, (IMO), well, I stick to what I posted. The Mobley cue is over-priced, especially in this resale market. Mobley cues are indeed great cues and
some of the cues are worth a lot of money, just not the cue under discussion.
I just rely more on what I see & what my hands feel when I hit pool balls. I could have named other cue-makers instead of Bob but his cues really do hit great.

In that case, I would rescind my earlier comment. Yes. This Mobley (in the link in the first post) is nowhere NEAR $8k. The seller would be lucky (or robbing someone) if he got $3k or higher for it.
But Randy's newer cues do command extremely high prices as he does the kind of precise work with amazing playability that only a small handful of guys are doing these days. And, as the example fourkingscues posted, not just fancy but unique and original, well executed kinda fancy. The list of people who could be compared is short and distinguished.
