*** Official Day Three Mosconi Cup Updates

Whats been crazy has been the amount of misses and not leaving a shot by these guys. Sometimes its partly by design, but for the most part today there have been a lot of misses where the person who missed didn't get punished because they left it pretty tough. I think Schmidt even commented on it once.

They're *all* struggling after three days. If you can't see that you're not watching. And Schmidt just got a couple of bad rolls. Day One he played brilliant run out pool.

The Euros don't seem to be struggling at 7-4. *shrug* (Nor does Justin or any of the other Americans at the same horrible rate that Schmidt is.) Listen, John is a great straight pool player and player in general. I just don't believe, based on what I've seen, that he should be over there as one of our top five players. The pressure is obviously more than he can handle at this point in his career.

Hall with the break and a chance to win the match. He looks calm and confident. One ball right in the side but doesn't have a shot on the two as it gets kissed to the bottom rail and is hooked by the 8. Cue ball on the side rail, by the side pocket.

Justin rolls out to a kick shot on the two, sitting by the first diamond by the corner pocket. He drills it like he was shooting it straight in. He is real close to his work on the 3. Plays a safe behind the 8.

Like I said you must not be watching because the score is not telling the whole story. Not even close.

Common kid! Nikos kicks at a safety leaves Justin the table - Justin knocks in a 4-9 combo for the match! That took guts.

Niko makes a good hit also firing at the 9 which was close to the 3. Misses the 9 in the side. Leaves Hall the 3 in the corner and a makeable 4-9 combo in the opposite corner. It is slightly off angle. He bears down and drills it.

Kid has ice water in the veins. Huge win for USA.

Hall is done for the day and USA down 7-5 overall.

I don't disagree the better team is winning, I just hate races to 5 but it is built for tv. No one but us is going to watch races to 100. What one of us wouldn't have wanted to see more of that Gray vs Schmidt match?

That's the whole idea ..

Where was the pressure when he was shooting lights out against Gray? He had a terrible match for sure….. He may be great next match… these race to 5's are up and down.

lol, JH just said in his post-game interview, "I think we're the favorites from here."

Gotta love it.

I was really concerned about Justin Hall being added but he's probably the MVP of the event. Amazingly solid play.

I agree with you there Lou. The mistakes by Schmidt told the story in the last match. Justin also just proved in the 2nd match that he's there to win and playing pretty well today, as I was saying.
