During day 2 matches, did Cory start playing all shots with his breaker and if so,why? Thanks ahead of time,I may have missed comments about it.

He might just like the hit better and break cues tend to put more speed and therefore action on the cueball. He might have just felt like letting his stroke out or hitting them softer to get the same result. Who knows?

Medina Never had a brake cue and didn't see the need during his prime years of play. He broke with theeeeeeee best of em, and had no use for transitioning back/forth. Danny told me...."once I get the feel of my playing cue during match play I even broke better, but the transitioning back/forth didn't work for him. Players years ago started using brake cues, because all custom cues had ivory ferrules, ivory repairs are expensive. What is even more surprising, his Meucci cue/or any cue by that matter, held up during his prime YEARS. It might of been during the early years of the black dot shafts that Bob had started producing.

Both of Cory's cues are 21oz according to OB's players profile. I think he just switched his playing shaft onto the Rift butt.

Coreys woodpecker cue has a 5/16x14 piloted joint. Those rift breakers have a flat face 3/8x10 joint. Maybe ob gave him playing shafts to fit the break butt, or he's just playing with the break shaft

Good observation. It's probably just an OB pro+ shaft then. Its definitely not the Control shaft as that has the wooden ferrule and I doubt he's shooting with the phenolic tipped Speed shaft.

Interesting. I just got ob rift with the speed shaft. I already had an ob 127 and two classic plus shafts. My speed shaft can be put on my ob 127 (not sure I would want to ever do that) and my classic plus shaft can go on to my rift butt (I could see that being of value). Nice setup I think. I can play with my main classic plus shaft on my player and use either my backup classic plus shaft or speed shaft on my rift break cue depending on the situation. (Maybe for 9 ball use the backup classic plus shaft on the rift and for eight ball use the speed shaft on the rift).
