MP Cup! PacMan International Tournament

Well, folks, we now have fodder for a couple hundred more posts on calling the 10-ball.

Game 17. Hill/Hill

- Biado breaks and runs out. Except he did not call the 10-ball (an obvious, simple shot to the side pocket).

- The referee calls the mistake (a different ref from the one in the SVB/Alcano match)

- Pulpul goes hopping in joy around the table.

- The ref spots the 10-ball and picks up the CB. Then he is told the CB should have remained in place.

- But where was it? He puts it where he thinks it was. I think it may have made for a slightly more difficult shot for Pulpul.

- People mill all around the table.

- Eventually Pulpul shoots it (a fairly difficult cut to the corner)and makes it for the win.

I just watched a replay. The ref replaced the CB many inches from where it should have been -- maybe at least 6 inches. I don't know whether it made for a harder or easier shot for Pulpul.

These refs are quite inexperienced- ref probably tot it is BIH and moved the CB

Thanks Atlarge for your live scores and commentary

:D

I love the fact that Efren is still a force to be reckoned with at 60 years old. The greatest of all time in my opinion.

Great stuff by Efren now leading 8:6 amd will be breaking
all while everyone watching out and worried about the young monsters and out of nowhere this old big monster sneaks into final and close to snapping this off

Hill-hill, what a match!
Pulpul started dogging it at the end there with the entire crowd rooting against him.
Amazing win by Efren, he may have lost a step or two but he still knows how to win.

Yes, Oldest man Efren wins MP Cup in cliffhanger hill hill 11:10
Efren got to hill first
Pulpul rallied to tie 10:10 then broke wet with open rack
Was running out and hung the 6
The old master came to table to finish him off
Had Pulpul won, this singles event would have ended in sour note

Shane & Dennis went down right out of the gate. Dennis didn't look like he was playing very well from what I could see.

Were you there? The match was not live streamed.

I wonder how the live streamed match is chosen. There are a lot more interesting matches in a particular session.

Day 2 of the PACMAN Doubles tournament is about to start in 15 minutes (11 pm US EST). The team-up of Orcullo/Van Boening is now on the B side after losing 8-9 in their first match. Not sure though if this will be the match they will be streaming.

I guess we will know in a few minutes.
