How often to damp clothe table?

Thanks for the info! You said, "other than surface cleaning it." Do you mean that wiping with a damp cloth is probably OK?

That's fine, as long as you squeeze out as much of the water as you can before you single layer the wash cloth and scrub the surface of the table to clean the surface of the bed cloth and rails. That's why I tell everyone a cap full of woolite' in a gallon of hot water, use gloves if you have to, that way the hot water wash cloth is actually trying to dry out while you're using it, as well as the cloth areas you're cleaning.

I vacuum my table with a dedicated vacuum probably every 2-3 weeks. It has a wide brush attachment on it just small enough to get partially under the cushion to slate grooves. Then I use a micro fiber towel and Quick Clean Pool Table Cleaner. I do not use a lot of it, it takes less than 5 minutes for the table to be spot free. I have been using this method on my Tournament Green Simonis 860 for 2 years so far and the table looks spectacular when finished. Now if I could just get rid of the burn marks from breaking and so on, maybe I should have gotten the 860HR. Does anyone know if this would help reduce burn marks? I also polish my Centennials and Aramith Tournaments in my Diamond ball polisher weekly with the Aramith Ball Cleaner.

The HR stands for high resistance, to wear such as the break lines and marks, so yes it'll help a lot.

I use a "Mr Schticky" paint roller sized lint roller. You wash them off with soap and water after they get full and they are sticky again for the next time. I have 4 of them because you can only clean about 1/4 of a nine foot table before they are full of lint and chalk.

If you don't think this is a superior way then go ahead and vacuum your table first and then use the lint roller on it. You won't believe how much more dirt is picked up. Then an occasional damp cloth mostly to clean the lines where the balls roll down the rails and the interior of the pocket/shelf area and the cushions themselves.

That's how I keep my diamond in it's original RKC condition:smile:

I used to think it was taboo to ever wipe the cloth with anything containing water. After several well-respected AZers said it was OK I gave it a try. IMO it really brings out both the appearance and the playability.

I brush every day. Once a week I vacuum right after brushing. About once a month I brush, vacuum, and then wipe everything down with a damp microfiber towel.

I use a lot more water than most say they use. Not dripping, but wet enough so that I have to let the cloth dry for a few hours before I can play. Wetting the cloth seems to tighten it up again (once it dries), and it improves the rail gutters. The whole surface just seems more uniform. And it looks so freakin' good!

I have owned several pool rooms and I can tell you, I have wiped down tables with a damp cloth thousands of times. I use to do it about once a week or as needed.. It really makes even a worn table look almost like new and is completely harmless.
