What tip is on your playing cue, and why?

UltraSkin Heavy Hitter
2nd best tip I have ever played with

My favorite tip is a pressed triangle... however, they mark up my cueball SUPER fast

and the UltraSkin HH does not leave marks all over whitey, and plays pretty darn close (plus it burnishes up prettier than the triangle does)

I have no idea. When I dropped my shaft with Bob Hunter he asked me what tip I wanted. I told him to pick. It plays just fine.

Wizard on one cue (not sure if medium or hard, it's a pretty firm tip) and I love it, just works great and almost never a miscue. Need to get some more of these to have around.

Recently started shooting with a Jacoby Edge Hybrid shaft that has an Everest on it...feels okay but I've been getting more than a normal amount of miscues. Not sure if it's the tip or just me getting used to the shaft so I'm going to give it a little more time.

Milk dud... On my primary player and my break cue.

Hard tip that plays like medium-soft, I love the feel, the sound, imparts plenty of predictable spin on the cue ball, low maintenance, holds chalk very well, low cost.

I had the same issue with Kamui super-soft tips, had them put on a Jacoby hybrid shaft and miscued far more than normal. I finally gave up on them and the Wizard tip is working so much better for me. I'm amazed at how many different brands of tips are out there to choose from, no way to test them all.

I put Triangle tips on my cues.
They're dirt cheap, everyone has them if I have to get it changed somewhere unexpectedly, and I like the way they play. I like to scuff and shape my tip every time I take my cue out of my case, and I don't fret about the wear duration of a tip that cost me less than a quarter.

Have you tried the new FourSkin tips from Steamer Cue Sports, Ltd.? They're great.
Available in Soft, Kinda Hard, and Damned Hard; these tips will put you back in the winners circle in no time.
And, coming soon, the all new Diamond Cutter break tip. :)

I'm with you! I've used the Triangles for many years for the exact same reasons. I'm always scuffing and playing with the tip. Le Pro before that, but I noticed quality issues with them a while back and went to the Triangles.

Recently I've found Tiger Emerald tips, pretty cheap also, I wanted to see what all the hype was with layered tips but I wasn't about to get robbed, so I tried these Emerald tips. I think I like them a touch better than the Triangles, not only play wise but much nicer to install and shape IMO.

FourSkin tips, huh? Think I had some of those when I was very young but they were taken from me at knifepoint. Never did find the bastard.

Kamui Black hard, because I like hard tips, and people said it was cool. I think I have a triangle on the other shaft that I use nearly as much.

What tip? The tip that came on my cue shaft.
It's a Tiger Sniper that has been on the shaft for a year. It's hard as hell now, but I don't care.

HEY!!! Welcome Back Tramp.... Been way to serious around here in your absence hope you are back for awhile and not just passing through...

I play with Triangle tips. It takes some work to find the good ones, but when I do they are the right hardness and consistency for me.

I don't care for layered tips as I like to groom/shape/scuff mine a lot. Tips are like tires in an F1 race to me, no matter what technology is in the cue or the car, if the tips or tire aren't right, the driver/player can't perform right.

The tip I use on my cue I am playing the most with now is a Milkdud from whomever on here always gets good reviews...(can't remember his name off the top of my head at the moment)>

On the other couple cues that I'm experimenting with are TNT Max Pros that I got here on the forum.

I am not sure you can pick a particular tip for every shaft...they all play differently.

I've found that these tips on these shafts are more suited to me and my playing style. I like a hit that I guess would be considered "medium". I don't like a noticeable "plink" and I don't want it to hit completely quiet like a real mushy tip. I like something in between.

I recently moved to a KiTech medium because of what I read in various threads here (do a search on "Kitech" if interested) and because it's cheaper than the Moori medium that I got on the cue when I bought it new.

I liked the Moori medium but it wasn't that thick and eventually got too small and needed to be replaced. Tried a Triangle, Everest, and some lesser known brand I forgot and they were all ok but not great. Meaning for me that I felt I had to work harder for the same amount of spin.

The Kitech has lived up to the claims. Cheaper than the Moori. Plays as well or better, and I can already tell it is going to last me much longer than the Moori did (which was about 2 years of playing avg 4 hours a week).

Another Ki-Tech lover here...medium... won't use anything else. Now if Chris would get me the chalk I'd be set !
