I have a cuetec jump/break cue, the phenolic tip popped off, I tried to glue it back on with gorilla super glue. It lasted about a month then popped off again. A friend of mine said he had similar problems when trying to glue on a phenolic tip. Any suggestions?

It's all about the prep when installing hard tips. The more sure you are sure that the two faces are sufficiently flat, the better the glue has a chance to bond. I use Loc-Tite super glue gel professional stuff, in the black bottle.

If the ferrule is a through ferrule then the phenolic tip will eventually pop off, ive had it happen mord than once. A solid capped ferrule will, if properly installed, stay on for quite a while. This is my experience.

Did you do this by hand or ........I tried Gorilla super glue back when I first noticed it at Home Depot, was not impressed.. Never had a problem w/ Loctite control gel or Cue Components tip glue

I have not had a phenolic or leather tip pop off of a capped ferrule
in a long time since I started using the following glue..................

My suggestion is switch to a Mad Man Break tip or switch the ferrule to a linen based ferrule. A soft ferrule with phenolic tip has little chance of holding up to miscues.

It's not just phenolic tips, any harder tip paired with a softer ferrule has a chance to come off. Even when capped.

Make your own phenolic tips . Leave a stem at the bottom.
Make it a T shaped tip.
Problem solved.

the problem lies in the cuetec ferule. I have hade more tips come off stock cute ferules than all of the other ferules combined. Ive only had about 10 tips pop off over the whole time I've been doing tips and 7 of them where cutters. replace the ferule and problem goes away. just saying...
