Cues on an airplane: sorry if already posted

I still haven't seen any change in TSA or airline policy and no signs that anyone's even thinking about it

I flew to Vegas with one of my cues last week. Southwest would not allow me to carry on. They also forced me to sign away my rights if they physically destroyed the cue. They were responsible only if they lost it! Not a good time to fly your collection. You might consider shipping them to your hotel by a reputable carrier. See you at SBE.

I fly constantly with my cues when I travel for work so I can play during the Eve at local events and rooms. I have a hard sided abs golf travel case, put my pool case in there wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap. This as well as having cues on insurance policy.
I purchased a very nice duffle bag type suitcase made by High Sierra. It is 36" long and fits my case very nicely. I can actually fit like 3 cases in the bottom compartment. Only problem is the bag is a bit heavy, and if you have multiple cases loaded with cues you might run into weight problems. In any case I payed like $99 at a place called campmore.com or something. They were good to deal with. Also, the bag has a nice frame to it, so there is considerable protection.
Highly recommended.

You can't carry them on the plane. The pros overnight them. You can put in your suitcase and check baggage, keep them in your case for protecction. There is a special duffle bag with wheels that will accomodate cases and everything else, and it is $40 at Dicks Sporting goods or you can search on line. I do not remember who the etailer is.
Buy a longoni hard travel case. I have been using mine for 3 years now and couldnt be happier. When i travel for work i always bring my mid range cues with me and i havent had any problems yet.

IIRC the TSA had announced a change to allow pool cues but it was either never implemented or quickly rescinded. In any event they are still on the prohibited list. If you want to chance it and you get past security somehow, the airline might still not let you take them on, which means the dreaded gate check. Now your cues get stowed below without protection of being carefully packed in a suitcase or duffel.

it was rescinded because on the whole list of items they were going to allow one was small knives. That upset people so instead of just taking that off the list they took it all off! smh
I have a large suitcase. My justis case fit cross corner and since it has a jb interior I had nothing to worry about :thumbup: lol
Aramith hard shell case seems pretty sweet.
Bought one and have yet to travel with it.
FWIW I don't recommend using a plastic rifle case, the airlines will be pissy ( no gun, but it's a GUN CASE!!). Myself and Uncle Bob traveled with one holding our cue cases once and that is NO-where near an efficient (or pleasant) experience.

Nothing to worry about...except the airline losing your luggage perhaps.
lol I know.. I'm glad I don't play with custom's any more or I would ship it. The cue I play with I could just go up to a rack and grab another predator road line and I'm back in business.
I would go to a UPS or FED ex store. Have them find a affiliated store near where you stay. Have them pack and ship, hold for arrival. In these arrangements, you then speak the the manager of both stores. It would be like shipping a cue to me. You only have nice cues!
