Last year there were similar problems and I contacted accu stats about it and did not hear anything back.
I didn't break balls about a refund though I felt I paid for a mostly unwatchable event.
I applaud and support all that Pat has done; I am a huge Accu Stats fan.
But I have to say that at this point we are no longer in the dark ages of event streaming and wherever it lies, there is a weak link (or several) in the chain that gets this stream from DCC to our pc's.
No Stroke is correct in that we've heard over the years how the host for this event has had poor bandwidth to support streaming. I recall when there was the need to shut down one streamer there (was it TAR?) so they wouldn't diminish what little bandwidth that was available for accu stats.
Well, anywho, I sure don't know much about the technical aspect of streaming but I do know that if they can't deliver the product to my pc again this time, I'm gonna be looking for a refund.
Been looking forward to watching DCC for some time now, and now with 2 - 3 feet of snow about to entomb me, I'm really hoping it will straighten out so I won't be left to the horror of network television or books.
Obviously, the problem is widespread enough given the responses here in this thread to say, yes, there def is a problem.
I, and I see others, too, have tried IE, Firefox, & Chrome, all with similar freezing problems.
Accu-Stats, Horseshoe, or whomever, please rescue me (us).
best,
brian kc
