Hey guys,

Who is refinishing Meuccies nowadays? I, finally, found my M-8 cue I've wanted for so long. However, it's in dire need of a refinish and a new shaft with matching ringwork. The old shaft looks like a dogs leg.

Hi Josh

I am not trying be mean , but you might be money ahead to have someone make you a replica Meucci Custom cue.

If your cue is of the black dot era I would be afraid of it falling apart once the finish was removed...........:

No offense taken, Mike; I know what you mean. The cue I'm looking to have refinished is a pre-dot, early 90s, M series cue.

I don't think the early pre dot era models would be a problem.

Any good cue repairman or cuemaker should be able to handle it.

Post a picture please, and I am glade you were not offended.

Steve at CrossBone Cues specializes in refinishing those and changing out the ringwork to a new shaft. He will treat you right. Tell him Brad sent you.
 
Scott Erwin of Erwin Custom Cues is unbeatable at his price which I believe is $99 with shipping. His father Mike Erwin worked with Bob Meucci from day 1 through 89' when he moved to Mississippi. Meucci followed suit shortly after. Unfortunately Mike passed away about 2 years ago, however Scott has continued to make custom cues and offer refinishing services. He started turning around 13 years old from what I understand.

He does them very fast as well. I've heard in a few weeks.

I won't recommend him, has me for $750, and won't answer calls or emails. Sad bc his dad was great to deal with.
