Q md stroke trainer/anyone got opinion from using??

There's more to it than the programming language. The QMD unit contains a bluetooth radio (FC/CE certified). Apple products will only work with external devices containing Apple licensed (MFi) bluetooth radios, and these are only sold to large scale manufacturing facilities that can cope with the license/royalty fees and all the other Apple restrictions. It's near impossible for a small company to get such a license. If it could it would probably double the price of QMD.
Not to start an Android/Apple war, but you can easily get an excellent Android tablet for 1/2 the price of the equivalent Apple product. Currently the world-wide market share of Android mobile devices is at about 85%, seems only in the U.S. do people accept paying twice as much for their Apple.

Seems like the market is flooded with bluetooth devices compatible with iOs? In any event looks like a great device, but I wouldn't invest in a tablet to be able to use it. Doubling the cost may be cheaper than the current cost and a decent tablet lol.

Be warned though that if you twist the stick as you stroke it will show a side movement to your cue when there is none. I know I know...shouldn't be twisting it but I only made the realization recently and I am fixing it.
I guess since it will show a mistake it is helpful but I only found this out by videoing a shot while I was recording it with the QMD. Stroke looked straight in video but since the device showed something different I looked closer to find the twisting in the video.
Maybe they could add a third axis to monitor with it so it would note the twisting correctly!
All in all satisfied. I look forward to using it on a student!

Thanks for pointing that out. Actually there's a new software enhancement that added a line to the 'cue ball view' that will show any twist. This will be released with a few others when they're all done.

I think you're seeing devices with BLE (low energy) Bluetooth, they don't need the Apple manufacturing license or encryption chip. However their data throughput is too slow to use with QMD.
How does this thing deal with practice stokes and the fact that the cue will deflect off the cueball on any hit and even on a perfectly center shot you will have the jarring effect of the hit? Or can you only record one stoke per shot? Can you tell when is done on practice stokes and what is the final hit like?
Basically before spending $150 on it, will it work with a natural game stoke or just a fake one made for this?
I just sent this product link to a certified BCA instructor as well as the guy that runs the USAPL leagues in my area and also works with the juniors, if this thing works well I'm sure word will spread.

The web site, www.cue-md.com, has user guides that get pretty detailed in what QMD does and how to use it.
In short, when you get down on your shot and start practice stroking it alerts you (beeps) instantly when your cue isn't moving straight or twisting. The idea is to keep it quiet so you get the feel of when your cue is moving straight and lets you know where to adjust to get it straight. Then on your final stroke (when it detects you hit the cue ball) it saves the movements of your cue from where you set at the cue ball to where you hit it and instantly show it to you if you want to look at it right then. It records only the final stroke, from its start to finish, but not the warm-ups. You can go back later and look through all the shots it saved to see how you did - was your stroke straight, where wasn't is straight, where you hit the cue ball, was your cue butt dropping, etc.

I got my QMD a couple of months ago but haven't really fooled around with it since the day I got it. I'll have to try it again.

I have my Apple laptop dual booted so that I can boot into Windows for this QMD product. It communicates perfectly with my Apple hardware running Windows 7. If that is the case, wouldn't that mean that the licensing limitation is not really a limitation?
