Where Alex Got His Nickname...

I did not think it was that much of a mystery LOL. Paguylayan.. Lion... rhymes, sounds cool, matches with the pool theme of having "heart like a lion".

I feel bad for guys like Kanichi who one of the commentators during his match wanted to nickname him "Itchy Kanichi", I think after he scratched on a shot maybe.

I think I ended up with a decent nickname, my name is Lazar and a pool buddy of mine has been calling me Laser or Laser Beam for 20 years, and it spread among people in the area. Some guy even said after I beat him "what do you expect when you play a guy called Laser".

Although lately some guys I met recently picked up on something I said when I played some tough shots because I did not feel like moving from where I was standing or missed when I said "I got lazy on that shot" and now some call me "Lazy". Still matches with my name pretty well though LOL.
 
It's fun to see that professional pool players actually have a personalty!

Oliver Ortman funny? Who'da thunk?

I wish we could see them play racks just for fun, joking around with each other. There is a youtube of Alex playing (I think against Shane) just for fun and it was hilarious.

man, I was actually there at valley forge when he started banging his head on the table rail. The rail is gonna win this battle at least 95% of the time.

Somebody took off a t-shirt to use to stop the bleeding as the emt's were being summoned to the pro arena.

I thought I was hard on myself when I miss.

I agree.

I especially liked Steve Davis in this video and his willingness to use the 200+ page book of trickshots by Mike Massey and to let the audience choose which trick he had to shoot. :cool:
