Ginacue Question

I Do Too

I've had one with that bumper too. I think it was one I had back in 2002.

I checked some of my Ginacues, and have several that have rubber bumpers with the same rounded back
and WITH THE SLOT in the bottom. I didn't have a tool with me to remove the rubber bumper to check underneath.

I would check inside the joint by the joint pin. If the Ginacue name along with the serial numbers are on
the joint by the pin, my confidence in the originality would go way up. He also put the GQ logo on the buttcap as well.

I heard that the 50 50th anniversary cues were all spoken for already. Don't know if that's fact.

Sorry Lou, I just saw this. I too have the impression that all the Anniversary Cues are sold, however, I did not ask. My interest was somthing different and complicated. Thay is why I said non commital. He did not say yes, but he did not say no. Since there are so many Anniversary Cues, my guess someone or orther won't be able to take delivery. If a person is interested, it woud be worth asking about an alternative list.
All the best,
Phil

Thanks, Phil.

Given "the number" I've heard for the anniversary cues I couldn't afford one anyways. I'm going to try and visit Ernie's shop in a few weeks. Take a peek at what he's got going on and maybe get a couple of shafts made.

Funny...

I'm going to swing by his shop in a few weeks too. He's making me a couple shafts right now.

Can't wait to check out his 50th cues.

I have this Ginacue, no signature...

and it has/had the same type of bumper, so I looked under the bumper and it has the same screw but

....it appears the screw and the bumper are actually a one piece unit and the bumper will not just slip right back on to the screw.

It looks like I'm also off to see Ernie for a repair, and that's the last time I try any self inspections on my Ginas.

One more question for you guys, when did Ernie retire from cuemaking and when did he return to it?

Ernie was retired from cue making from about '73 - '88. He spend much of that time designing parts and systems for airplanes, motorcycles, and race cars. His shop is one of the more incredible ones you'll see and he designed and built many (if not virtually all) the machines himself.

He's an interesting fellow to say the least. ;)
