Struggling to understand the visual sweeps in CTE pro one

I recently bought the CTE Pro One DVDs to improve my game. I watched the first DVD where Stan speaks about left and right cuts.

For example, when Stan speaks of right cuts - there are two reference lines. Edge to A/B/C and Center to Edge. You should not be directly behind either of these shot lines but have a left visual sweep. I don't quite get this. Does that mean that I line up my cue with the Edge to A/B/C line and then rotate to center? Where exactly do I form the bridge?

I have not watched the DVD 1 and am thinking if i'm missing some fundamentals from there. Can someone please help me out.

Thanks

I think I know what the problem is, your Lazy. :D
Many on here have felt your pain and then some, you must enter another realm to completely get it to work.:) I think.

Why would you not just call Stan?
Welcome to AZ if this is really your first post.

:) I have read that many here have benefited greatly from the system though so I want to try and learn it.

I didn't think that was an option. But i'll drop him a PM and ask him if he would be willing to help me out. And yes, that was really my first post :)

Here's some stuff to look at: CTE

I checked out a few of those videos. But, i'll try watching some more. Thanks !

I use it and I'm fairly successful with CTE. I've used those videos to help hone my use of it. I've been using some form of CTE since 2007.

I understand lazy, just don't be expecting the magic bullet, cause your not.;)
Not even close.

Check out Dr Dave's Aiming site.

http://billiards.colostate.edu/threads/aiming.html

He has a brief summary of CTE which may get you started down the path.

http://billiards.colostate.edu/threads/aiming.html#CTE

Note that there is a big dispute whether CTE is an exact aiming system or not.
But even if it isn't, it may have benefits for some players.

I bought the DVD several years ago and couldn't understand it but now I think I do but don't use it.

I may try to create a simpler version after I work out all my other shooting issues :)

Please do not go to Dr. Daves site to learn anything about CTE. His site has some very bad info on it about CTE.

It is the only CTE info that I could understand.

I'm guessing your statement is emotional because Dr Dave was originally very critical of CTE and created DAM to emphasize how ridiculous Stan's claims of exact aim for every shot are.

It is probably a good system for some but not an exact aiming system.

I intend to practice it when I have a lot of free time but my current priorities don't allow that right now.

If I'm wrong about your statement "His site has some very bad info on it about CTE." then please post specifics of bad info on Dr Dave's site.

Dr Dave tells the truth about pool.

Dr Dave tells the truth about pool.
You will never practice it or "have the free time".
It takes WORK...it is not the panacea for your dreams of grandeur.
Dr. Dave tells the truth about what he knows....he doesn't, however, know what he doesn't know.
CTE is deadly, if you willingly throw off your shackles of mediocrity and study it at the table...........for MONTHS.
Otherwise you're doomed to never finding out what you don't know.....just like the good doctor

The specifics are 95% of his CTE info is wrong.

That's par for the course, attack the messenger not the message.
