There are three threads, on page one, that mention CJ or TOI.
There are more threads on the following pages.

It doesn't seem like much, but then you notice that one thread is roughly 3 years old with nearly 2,400 posts in it. I'm not saying a huge thread is bad, I'm just saying it's 3 years of TOI advertisement on the main page.

So, to say CJ isn't abusing the main forum, is complete BS.

There is no denying that 90% of posts and threads that CJ starts have something to do with what he's selling. CJ obviously has plenty to share, and it obviously helps some people. My vote is that he gets his own subforum in Ask the Instructor. Anything remotely related to what he sells should be moved there immediately.

I've yet to see you put a SINGLE post of INFORMATION that helps ANYONE play pool. The only thing I've seen you post is something that ridicules people and pictures of women and BS cartoons.

The SHEER NUMBER of your posts chasing him is getting up there in the numbers. Probably 99% of your posts!!!

It's threads and posts like this that help nothing.

I haven't been here long but i like it.

Every time I ask questions or ask for advice I get it, i have Pmed many people asking questions.

I liked the post by Solomon the other day about his break and run and PJ took the time to draw out a few diagrams of what he would of done.. That's the kind of stuff that will help out this forum, It's valuable information.

A while back i asked what drills you guys reccomend and there was a lot of very good replies..

If you want to help out this forum post informative stuff and not bicker and make smart comments back and forth to each other. And no more of these.. Azbilliards is dying.. The forum is full of BS.. Ect, ect.
 
I actually like SJD and CJ....they just don't argue ENOUGH - I WANT MORE!

You have this one exactly right. I was religiously reading AzB for many years before I ever decided to join and post, and was also involved with RSB for many years before that. The average IQ level has dropped massively over time, as has the average age and maturity level. There used to be a lot more intelligent discussion and knowledge. Even the misinformed could often at least articulate and debate their position reasonably well even when they were wrong. And they were a lot more open to learning than they are now.

I think what has happened is that the forums and the internet in general just reflect a more true picture of real life than they used to. Twenty years ago the average person online was a "techie" and "geek," and the type of person who actively seeks out knowledge and information (which ironically tends to be the most intelligent people). Computers and internet service were not seen as mainstream yet and were not real cheap, so the average person online had an above average income. And of course people with above average incomes also tend to have above average intelligence, as well as tending to not be young and immature.

Ten or twelve years ago a lot more "average" people were now on the internet and forums, but most of the biggest idiots were still not on yet, and many of the very young still stayed away outside of the few on MySpace. Then about 7-8 years ago smart phones with internet service became more mainstream. That made the internet accessible to everyone. Even the people who are borderline illiterate, literally, are all online now. Even all the gang members are all online now. There is nobody too dumb to be online any more. Now the forums just mirror "real life", whereas they didn't use to. It is just the way it is and it won't be changing, unfortunately.

As with most things, the people that are most vocal will generally set the trend for how things will be. And right now the misinformed idiots are setting the tone.
