"Collectors" lowball too. Everybody wants a deal...If this cue sold for 12k I would be very surprised because of the market. That said if two buyers have to "have" it, then Who knows...

That's my point. No matter what he lists it at, a bunch of guys will say "but I have to pay for an LOA and the shafts aren't my style so I need new ones plus custom joint caps so how about 20% off"

I don't think ANY of those reasons would be why someone would low ball. At least not collectors... I for one only care that the original shafts are not under 12mm, in decent shape and relatively straight, the cue hasn't been worked on by anyone other than Barry, and the butt is sound and straight.. The Barry shafts are a bonus. If all that is correct with this cue I would guess it'll sell for around 9K. Retail 13K..We may never know though unless "we" buy it....
 
If you list it on eBay I would make sure you have it listed carefully and correctly. Be vary carful with International bidders on eBay. You can get burned and run into situations even with proper insurance.

The cue will buff up nice and not need restoration. It is a very nice cue. However, realize, with the exception of one shaft, it is 21oz. Despite the weight, this should be rather easy to sell. Many collectors lowball.

Hi Tim,

Like I said not $8, but above, and not $13K...but who knows? Recently certain cues, quietly, have gone for huge prices. Look at any auction or apprasel, there is a range. I just gave what I thought that range was.

The more it brings the more mine is worth......

After getting on a table:
Butt is straight.
All shafts roll without the tip rising from the table, although I'd have to say that they have imperfections. Light changes under all at the taper.
The best is almost perfect, while the worst you can feel as it rolls across the table, though the tip doesnt rise.
When mounted, they all roll flat. When extended out over the rail, the worst has a small amount of movement of the tip, though it seems to roll with out tip rising when flat.

I will try to get it listed on ebay tomorrow.

I have been over Barry's place a few times recently and he says he doesn't like to give values... not sure if he has ever provided a value in writing on any of his Dad's cues. He would most likely ask you to reach out to Little Kenny.

I of course don't know Barry by other than what I read, but I am impressed that he would not. Speaks volumes to his integrity and honesty.

I didn't want to mention the process or name names, but that is actually what I was hoping the seller would do, especially since Barry had worked on the cue. This is a nice older cue and Kenny would undoubtedly be able to value it and place it at a good price.

On a cue we were valuing a few years ago, Kenny was able to get offers that were turned down by the owner. When it was sold a few months later on ebay, it went for less.

That is true...I've had a few conversations with Barry (at his home to confirm authenticity of some of his Dad's cues I own) and at the Expo years later...He stated to me both times, he does not assess a value - only authenticates not with a letter (unless he does work to it and then it states in the billing document along with a brief description) because letters have a way of getting "lost" to another cue that may not be a Szamboti". Little Kenny is a great go to person and has a strong relationship with Barry and is a "straight" shooter as well.
