Does anyone think Frost is favourite over Alex in the upcoming 1p $50000 match?

Someone talked about the previous match being a "dump." If you don't have specific facts that can be verified then keep your opinions to yourself. Demeaning someones character is no small slight.

This has the potential to be an epic match. Let's break down some possible scenarios.
The shorter the match the more it seems Alex will take it. His offense is superior. The longer it goes the more I think Scott might squeak through. Here's why, Scott is a master at getting out of his opponents break. He also plays balls off the rack to his hole better than anyone. If he begins to assert himself in these two areas, that might well overwhelm Alex. This is all speculation of course but the offense definitely belongs to Alex and he plays the game strategically very well. He could be the best "One Pocket Player" right now. Scott has to make Alex take bad shots to win and the only way that can happen is if his traps are superior and he is ahead in games. What a match…….

OK...For those of you who are mathematically challenged...this is a $25,000 match. Call it a $25,000 entry fee if you like...but the winner is going to walk away $25,000 plus get his very own $25,000 back in his pocket. No one is going to be $50,000 to the good. This kind of thinking is why most pool players are dead broke and need backers to keep them afloat and get them in the next match. I love playing and watching pool...but I would never take financial or gambling advice from a pool player. You only win when the money stays in your pocket for more than a day or two...and is invested or spent wisely.

PS...Can't wait to see this match...hope it comes off as planned. I think this time Scott will take it seriously and win the bragging rights...for a while. Two great players.

Have they decided on a table yet?

I think the pocket size could be a huge factor in this game. If they play on a ridiculously tight table -- around 4" or so then I think Alex will be a clear favorite due to his straight shooting advantage. If the pocket size is no smaller than 4.25" and Scott can turn this into an up table banking competition he may be a slight favorite.

Either way -- it should be better than the last match.

Man oh man, I hope Scott is reading this stuff, it will make him work even harder and be even more focused

I hope Alex is reading this stuff too...

Alex, as a pool player, is washed up like a piece of kelp on the beach shore.

There. I hope it will make him work even harder and be even more focused than Scott.

Go Alex!

I thought about linking this thread to his FB #motiviation

But...that might not be a good idea. He has lost a bit of weight so I know he is training physically for this match in case it goes the distance.
