Meucci Pro Shaft info

Fellow AZ'ers:

I'm looking for any info or feedback on the new Meucci shafts. I guess there are two: The Pro, and the Ultimate Weapon. (12.5 and 11.5mm respectively).

I tried one of the Pro's that Jayson Shaw sold a to a local top player near me. All I can say is WOW! The finish was awesome, it was extremely smooth and nice feeling. I like the look of the traditional looking, although somewhat short ferrule.

Man, the hit was excellent. It really felt solid. Not super stiff, but not soft either. I only hit about 10 or 15 balls. I tried to spin the ball a lot. I normally shoot with an OB Pro +. I had zero problems aiming. If anything, I would have to admit that the Meucci may have had lower deflection. I really liked the extremely long taper. I found that I had the felling I could REALLY juice up the ball very easily, and with less tip offset. The shaft belonged to Nelson Oliveira, a strong player in my area. He kept telling me "just use only a little english and feel what it does." He was right. With just a touch of english I felt like I could really spin the ball like crazy. It felt like less effort for the action I got. I can't defend this from a physics standpoint, but I know what I felt. I want one.

I was just curious what the prices are, who sells them, etc. I can't find them anywhere. I would prefer to buy it direct from Jayson Shaw. He has actually provided great communication about it with me. Plus he seems like a decent guy who is really working on his game, and I'll jump at the chance to help a pro like him earn his living.

Anyone have any additional info?

I found it on the Meucci site. Apparently my phone stinks, but computer works fine lol.

So they say that the shaft is available in 1 piece hard rock maple or 30 piece flat laminated. I'm pretty sure I tried the 1 piece. Any feedback is most welcome!

Nothing?? Really? Usually people love to talk about new shafts and why they are good, or how much they suck lol.

I'm shopping for a LD shaft, it's near the top of my list along with the OB+ Pro and Tiger Pro X... budget cues and Matthew Webb have them if you're looking to buy.

Thanks yes I found the budget cues site. I understand that is somehow connected to Meucci? Like his daughter or something?

I would prefer to support a pro player like Jayson Shaw, so I would buy it direct from him.

Thanks for the reply. I love my OB Pro +, and love OB as a company. You can't go wrong there. But I must say that Meucci shaft was impressive!

There is a new Pro shaft model.. the AO - Alpha Omega/ Beesley Setup

This is the setup that Jayson Shaw is using. It has an outsville tip and some other items to make it a world class shaft.

I have a Pro Shaft and was impressed from the first shot, bought cue direct from Meucci, with 2 shafts, Shafts $250. each,
Everyone that has shot with this cue likes it and made good comments.
I may be a bit bias, have used a Meucci for over thirty years , but this new line of pro shafts is great, very low deflection, can get the ball to move with more action, and making some shots with ease, that others struggle with.
