Article written by publisher and editor Mike Panozzo
Interviews Pilgrim Studios President and CEO Craig Piligian (Emmy award winner for "survivor" series and producer of "American Chopper" and "Dirty Jobs")

"This kind of reality show is a docu-series" explained Piligian. "It evolves from week to week. It's a betting show, with players trying to knock the person above them off the list."

"These games are real," Piligian emphasized. "They are playing for real money. You can watch the game unfold, and there is a real winner and a real loser."

You are totally missing the point ,, my point is they know the camera is there , they are playing to the camera ,, if they did not know they were being filmed I highly doubt they would be acting in the same manner ,, they are pumping it up because they know they have a adiunce ,, it's human nature ,

But you are conceding that the matches are real, right? How they act and talk can be hammed up for the camera sure, but the play and results are real. That was our original disagreement.

That was an amazing pressure cooker comeback by Jenn tonight and it was a real comeback. Gary wanted that thousand dollars. And Greg was shaking at the end with the thought that he almost lost it for her by raking the balls and conceding a rack

Please reference the post above from interview in Billiards Digest. You called the Emmy award winning producer of "Survivor" clueless.

Point me to the disclaimer that says they are supplying the money for the players to play with and get back to me ,, no way on gods green earth Ross plays Mike even with 6-5 on the money , get a grip

Mikey frost already shared that info, they are given a thousand and told top match up. That is their money at that point (IRS documents were supplied as well to show income). So tonight Gary lost his thousand and the opportunity to win another thousand.

We already covered this in past threads, TruTV/Pilgrim Studios is one giant stake horse only the players keep 100% of the winnings when real stake horse would take a cut.

So you stumbled upon more of the truth. The matches are real, and they are playing for real money. (Just like the Emmy winning producer told us)

What more can you ask for?

Does anyone know what size pockets are on that table?

Mikey frost also told us that Table 5 in Steinway is super tight. Like 4" corners tight. There has been matches on that Table. They rotate tables on the show. During the match between Ross and Emily, they looked like standard Brunswick pockets, but Jenn and Gary were playing on a tighter table.

We coverd that here but here is not the general public

If you are still running with this "staged pro wrestling" theory, you seriously need to read the latest issue of billiards digest and the main cover story. The editor of Billiards Digest interviews the producer of the show and it's all stated loud and clear. The matches and results are without a doubt real.

These are not professional actors. No way on earth you could get the reactions, facial stress, annoyed looks unless you had Oscar winning actors. That match tonight and the tension bleeding out of the screen during the Gary and Jenn match was 100% authentic. No way to stage that. He ran to the hill and she came back. And the Gary blowup was absolutely from a man who just lost $1000 and hangs dry wall for a living.

Great episode, great series.

Dam you are gullible. Look at the shot. There's no way she gets there. She has no angle to get there and didn't hit it hard enough. She plays like a dog. They just want her to win.

Greg would get beat down if he ever stood up to a 5th grader. You should go into politics. Just tell the same BS enough times and it's true.

It's all staged, put up money, with a scripted ending.

How many 1000 sets have these players had in real life? Cmon man stop being such a cheerleader.

I got to say just because producer says it real in billiards digest doesn't hold a lot of weight. Lol billiards digest is just doing an interview an reporting the results.

That being said ITS A TV SHOW PEOPLE! Real or staged who cares. I watched it and was entertained for an hour... That's all that matters. Jesus relax and enjoy the show!

Right now, you are calling the editor of billiards digest, the millionaire producer of the series and president of the production company, as well as multiple cast members, rail birds who were there and production company employees all liars and "clueless".

With that type of opposition, you will surely have to drum up some facts and/or eye witnesses to the match fixing.

In absence of that, your accusations really don't hold any merit.

I'm not trying to be confrontational, but trying to get the facts on the table.

I'm not so sure about that. I've seen quite a few animated ppl in pool halls. Definitely saw some wwf over the top animation at the derby

Excellent episode last night- The first 2-3 episodes i kinda skimmed through them. Now i watch every minute. I like Amy-even tolerated the Spa scene ok

I'm hooked-wish it was a longer season.

My wife hated this one. I tolerated it but didn't think it was nearly up to par with the others so far.

She loved the previous ones but said this one was all yelling and stupid stuff that turned her off.

Her opinion. She doesn't play pool but really has liked this show's characters and things up to now, but not this episode at all. The show is now part of our Friday night dates as we watch it together and I hope it stays that way.

fwiw,

Jeff Livingston

PS Jennifer's comeback was great. For some reason I saw it coming and even told my wife to pay attention cuz I thought Jen would win 5 in a row. I could just smell it coming, so to speak. I'm not sure why.

That's a good sign for the show's editing, imho. It allows the flavor of the matches to come through so those of us who play pool can really get into the show more fully and "feel" how the play is going.

If that makes sense.

Just catching up on some episodes. Great to see SJM on the show, adding his wealth of knowledge and class to the scenes.
