The Hustlers, Season 1, Episode 7

Just binge watched all the episodes on demand except the first two weren't available. Love it.

Was impressed how Irish handled the double-hitting the cue ball before making the 8 by Amy. He still paid her when he should have been getting paid. Gotta be hard not to insist on checking the cameras.

Also I didn't see the good hit on the six that everyone was saying moved in a different match. Did anyone else see it move? I thought Irish got robbed both times but I could be wrong.

Does that make it good TV? I generally dont watch that shit. Only reason I'm watching this is because there is pool in it and there are familiar faces.

Pawn Stars, Honey Boo Boo, Duck Dynasty might all be entertaining as hell, I will never know.

You see/learn interesting things from Pawn Stars no matter how fake. The other two are in a different and useless class altogether.

That's all editing. They are making every rack look like a break and run so that even people that play as bad as Emily still look like poolplayers.

Picture a match between SVB and Dennis Orcullo. Shane gets down on the 5 and shoots it with some speed to get around the table. The 5 rattles out of the pocket and lays on the short rail, while the cue ball is on the other short rail behind a couple of balls. Dennis kicks and makes good contact, but the 5 rolls up by the side pocket and gives Shane a road map to run out. If you're editing match footage for time and for an audience who might not know enough to appreciate safety play or good kicking, you cut pretty much all of Dennis' footage. So SVB rolls the 4 in with shape for the 5 in a corner, then next thing you know he's shooting the 5 in the side from a totally different layout.

Editing a good but not great player like some in the show provides more opportunities for continuity errors.

How dare you sir!

Yeah it seems Ms. Duddy's runouts get alot of editing.
Wow my sarcasm is really not working. I have no problem with the fact that they're editing the games for a TV show like this. I was mocking the comments that were complaining about it.

The runouts for Duddy are stitched together like Edward Scissorhands. It's undeniable.

Anyone giving odds on no season 2?

THANK YOU....Someone who gets it. Of course all of us pool players will catch it, but that's not who the show is for. It is for main stream American viewers who like the drama and the quick pace. If you want to watch a race to 21 with all of the safety and slow play, then watch an accu stats match.

So pool players ***** and complain because pool's not on TV, then when it is, pool players ***** and complain and literally root for it to be cancelled.

The sad, sad, hilarious irony.

Ross and Emily missed a thousand balls what's so tough to figure out. Amy is 100% natural redhead. After 7 episodes no real rumblings of a season 2 yet. Ratings been all over the place. Episode 5 was still far and away the best from a viewers perspective. Thread too long and no desire to catch up. This shit ain't for everybody

I took a chance knowing that it was 50/50 that you were being sarcastic. Sarcasm and ignorance can come across exactly the same without the benefit of tone and expression. I'll try to put your screen name in my "sarcastic tendencies" folder now that I know what's what.

I got to know. What have you learned from Pawnstars?

You must be kidding-everything from facts about the revolutionary war, civil war, ww1, WW2, LIncoln, Roosevelt etc Values on everything from comic books to guitars to French Dueling Pistols. Regulations on selling Antique Firearms and probably 100's other things. If my memory was better 1000's other things.

Cool. I have never watched it other than bits and pieces here and there.

Sarcasm is often lost in text. Use sarcasm tags next time [sarcasm] [/sarcasm]

Does anyone have a link to the first two episodes? All of the rest were available on demand.

Let's not forget facts and prices of; rare books, rare and famous signatures, coins, art work, antique toys, cars & motorcycles, and thousands of rare and historic unique items.

I learn something from just about every show.

This show is super cheesy and seems super scripted...although I still watched 5 episodes ..and found it entertaining...I feel like there was a couple of great shooters on there and a bunch I could beat . I like the show...and think its a positive thing for pool...
