PPV - Why not sell video later?

Why don't most of these big PPV matches become videos that we can buy later on after they air? Missing out on easy money...

I agree, I'd like to be able to buy more of the past ppv matches

TAR is slowly rolling out the matches for on-demand. That is a great format. You can stream or download the matches.

CSI has published free to YouTube many of their matches, six or so months later.

I'd like to see Upstate Al put his stuff on YouTube but I assume he's recording so much video it would be a big pain to do so.

Equipment?

That would make sense to me. I never have been a fan of watching a stream but if you have a dvd for reasonable, that would interest me in fact I might buy more.

How do you think an owner of the videos turns them into something that is available on demamd?

Does he owe anyone money for their part(s) in his profit? Room owner? Tournament director? Participants?

Just a couple items for consideration. It would be foolish to think there aren't lots more.

It seems like a simple prospect, putting them out.there....but it isn't.

There are no royalty agreements for these types of products so the players have no claim, nor does the room owners. Ask Pat of Accu-Stats.

Every deal is different depending on the producers and project.

Vimeo has made it easier than ever to do VOD. Low start up cost, no monthly storage fees and a very good revenue split for the content producer.

We are in the process of making our entire video library available in a searchable library. Since uploading them can take a lot of time, making the right choice on where to store them is crucial. It's coming.

you're essentially asking why promoters can't get out of 1985, that's a pool thing and not anything else

hell accustats won't even archive their ppv's for a few days and were peddaling vhs well into blu ray

lol

I wanted to add that ALL of our videos are available now on hard drive. If you know of a match you want get in touch.
