I and several others here use it. I've got about 3 months with it so far and am not looking back. Watch the dvd a few times until you understand it. There are regimented practice layouts, but I haven't used them. I would focus first on your 15 degree perceptions, you'll use them way more than any of the rest. It takes some time at the table practicing the visuals, but they will eventually come automatically. Unfortunately this forum hasn't been very kind to CTE and Stan. Most threads end up off the tracks.
I have used it for as long as Stan has. He has some great youtube videos out. It usually takes some time if you've been playing for a while. I think it gives you a whole new way to look at the shot and some shots will look wrong for a while. You have to trust cte and use it for all shots, hard and simple. If you dedicate yourself to that you should pick it up quite nicely. Don't underestimate the manual pivot, learn it. It's invaluable IMO.
Yeah I've heard it got a lot of crap at first. I have watched the video and kinda understood it but I need to watch it a few more times to fully get it. I did start trying to use it and the results were alright I did make a lot of good shots but I also missed ones I usually could make, but I guess that is expected when learning something new.
CTE is a more complicated version of "fractional" aiming. You might want to try the simpler version first to see if you need or want the added complexities. I think simpler is better.

CTE IS NOT FRACTIONAL AIMING. How many times do you have to be told this. Can't you stay out of these threads and keep posting your drawings on the main page? That is your strong suit.
Whether you think it is or not, it's similar enough that Jessel should compare the two and make his own choice.

My post was a helpful suggestion related to learning CTE. Cookie (and now you) derailed the thread with the usual CTE Persecution Complex whining. You guys should get over yourselves and stop creating drama out of nothing.

I mentioned to someone asking about CTE that there are also other systems similar to CTE. How is that an "ambush"? The ambush is all this knee jerk hypersensitivity. The CTE Anti Defamation League should give it a rest.
