Scott Erwin Cues and a cue repair

I sent a cue to Scott Erwin cues for a minor repair. They have had it 48 days and will not send me a picture of the repair which is supposed to be finished or a tracking number for my shipping back to me.

This leads me to believe something has happened to the cue. I have been lied too and promised four times it is going to ship.

I have been down this road and I know when I am getting taken. Very disappointing and angry.

What the hell Scott, do you even care man?

Cue

I've dealt with the guy before and exchanged many emails.
He's a busy guy and there is always those things that happen that is out if anyone's control..
Be patient, and he will deliver... I don't think he is out to " get " anyone.
If he is doing a repair for you he is probably doing you a favor, usually cue makers/builders machines are occupied by the custom cues they have in process..

Best of luck.

This is the main justification for owning 2 playing cues. One time I sent a few shafts to the original cuemaker for new tips and to remove a couple dings. It took 8 months to get the shafts back.

Wow!!! I hope you got it for free after all that.

Scott took about 6 weeks to get my cue back to me. Ultimately, I am very happy with the job he did. I know he is very busy, but the communication was lacking and the time it took was, I thought, excessive.

Again, happy with the repair...but it just took too long and I felt like it was hard to reach him sometimes.

Yes, the cuemaker felt so badly about taking that long that the receipt said "N/C". Apparently, he had a health issue that kept him out of the shop for most of that time.

That would drive me crazy. I love to communicate properly with the people I deal with.

That's understandable then. I am glad he had a reason and I hope he gets better.

Scott has done some refinishes and a couple of restorations for me and all were done to an amazingly high standard and on time.

It's very troubling to see this thread and someone else posted one about Scott not coming through for them, also, that one maybe a month or two ago.

He was one of my 3 go to guys along with Scott at Proficient and Ryan at Muellers.

I won't be recommending Scott Erwin any longer until these problems get sorted out.

OP, I hope it works out for you.

Did his phone # get working again?

Please keep us updated.

best,
brian kc

Scott has done a lot of good deals, I have read about them. I should have used Ryan Theewen as usual but for some reason I used Scott. His communication was great until he started promising me the cue back "next week"

To top it all off this is my wife's playing cue and we're going to the BCA in Las Vegas and he knows that.

Thanks for your support I appreciate that.

Why should I be patient? he has lied to me. Scott won't confirm if he has had an issue with the cue after I have asked him 2 times. I have asked for pics to document that and I don't get a response.

Yes I agree he is busy and time will tell if he will deliver. Scott isn't doing me any favour, I am doing him a favour send him money and a job he should complete the job in a timely fashion.

Matter of fact at this point I believe he screwed something up and can't afford to pay me back. This is a 2 hour job at most. Scott takes in all kinds of work, he does a lot of refinishes that aren't his cues.

The problem is he has taken on too much work and then has to backtrack on what he says.

My experience was identical...again, nice work...eventually. But I really felt like I had to push and be forceful to get my cue back. I felt like a jerk being pushy...but after 6 weeks, I had no choice

Yes I agree. I would ask him, he would give me a date of completion. That date came up 3 other times so I asked him a day or two later. Still next week he tells me.

I told him send it back if not started it's cool, he doesn't respond.

I have had a lot of cue deals, I will pursue this until I receive it back.

I have this all documented.

I know Scott and gave referred and sent him work. I think truly he's finding his way and having some growing pains.

He's a good guy and I'm sure it'll work out.
