Jayson Shaw's playing 1-hole 7 ahead for 90k

Well, it was stated before that "all bases were covered"

I certainly hope so! I don't want to see one of ours get jacked out of a year's salary.

Word on the street is this: is it completely true, dunno, but a reliable source.

Chris did win the set with Dippy for 90k, dippy tried to pay in poker chips, it wasn't accepted, someone went to cash the chips to get it paid off, brought it back to dippy. The next day they suppose to play again, yadda had da on the rest, but what I hear is dippy still has all the money and no ones been paid, and the second set was forced played. Then dippy quit after a game yesterday when he needed 1 ball and Chris needed like 16, Chris won, dippy broke down the stick and said I quit, I wasn't paying anyways.

How accurate it is I dunno like I said, but the quitting yesterday did happen, I saw it with my own eyes. We shall see what today brings.

Hopefully they play and whoever wins gets paid.

Source? I am sure Chris will post in here as he knows about the thread.

I would imagine chris had a backer. Several in this thread commented as if Chris was taking the whole amount.

Just a bit of friendly advice to Chris......there's nothing to be gained by coming on the Internet to say that you've won $90K. Particularly when it comes to the IRS. My advice, whether you got paid or not, let this die on the vine.

Agreed....I was more interested in if he got paid or stiffed...the amount doesn't need to be posted.

Chris is up in the second set

Did they square up after the first set? I know sometimes people don't square up every set, but I would for X amount that is higher than I normally play with before hitting a ball to start that 2nd set.

Wowsa, unsolicited tax fraud advice itt. I would worry more about making it to the car with the money than uncle sam monitoring interwebs message boards and stealing our rights to freeload off of the rest of those dumb bastards who actually pay their taxes.

Then again, maybe having the knowledge out there that he made a score generates some action he wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Call me nuts, but I don't see Chris playing a second set before he's paid for the first set.

Screw that. How would he play the first set for that kind of money without the whole enchilada being posted?

Thats what I was wondering? How would anyone playing for more than a few bucks not post the funds?

Not sure if money changed hands or not but there was a lot of negotiating

Hoping Bartrum just uses this nonsense to fuel him, win say 3 sets for 270K....Oh yeah. I can't even get $100 action!

Just back from vegas

Just got home from 2 weeks in vegas..I witnessed something I've never seen in my life! I watched chris bartram play David Peat aka dippy dave 1 pocket for 90 k a set for about a week of my trip. The first set was chris giving up 15-5 for 90k. After 3-4 days of play chris finally wins that set! They agree to play another set 16-5 for 90k. After another few days of playing and chris being 4 games dippy dave looks at chris and says" I quit and I'm not paying u!" I would of flipped out if someone did that to me for that amount of money!

um money was not posted based on Viffer's past?

Only someone with verifiable play can cash out large denomination cheques. So Dippy would have had to cash the cheques and not send someone else. A high stakes player like Dippy would know that.

So not only was the money not posted in the first set, but a second set was played without the first set being paid off and still no money posted?!?!???
