table question

I am in the process of buying a house with a "walk out basement" and my plan is to buy a 9 foot Diamond Pro-am to set up in the basement. My question is whether I should go with the one or 3 piece slate? What are the obvious pros and cons? I know most say the one piece is for main floor only (as they won't move them up and down stairs), but since I have a walk out basement, I would assume I could have either. So, that brings me back to my original question. What do most of you suggest and why?*

* I should also add that I was in the military for 20 years and have had my fill of moving, so unless something dramatic happens this will be the last home I plan on living in (i.e.not concerned with how a 1 piece would work in my next house.).

Buy the one piece.....no more separated slate lines.
....and I think the table is built better, also.

3 piece slate.

1. you might move.
2. you might sell it.
3. you might die. Pool tables can last forever. You won't. Down the road, the table
is going to be moved. Sometime. Somewhere.

3 piece slate - always - period - unless you own stock in Diamond.

Same build, one piece or three piece slate, makes no difference.

We have two nine-foot Diamonds with GC type legs...they do not look as sturdy as our
seven-foot Diamonds.
And three piece being the same as one piece presupposes that you installed them...
....and the floor is reliable.
Next nine footer we get will be one piece slate.

I have noticed this as well. Is the frame of the professional not as solid/sturdy as the pro-am?
