Million Dollar Proposition Shot? - How to Do It!

As way of a hint, to think outside the box...
I'm not likely to be able to walk into any poolroom to play this shot.

Colin

Hmmmmm. I thought Thomas nailed it. I'll try to think outside the box but right now voo doo sounds like the only other reasonable explanation. This is a good one.

One more question... don't the 3C trick shot guys do shots similar to this? Is the difference with yours how "complete" the circle is?
I have never seen a 3C player make a ball turn over 180 degrees, the weird stuff is multi rail. No rails hit in this shot.

btw: 180 degrees is straight up and back masse'. Perhaps a masse' with side could do 182 degrees with nap effects or a little roll.

But no directional nap on this table and it is completely level.

Colin

Tip: A further hint, the cue is not elevated.... well, not more than the usual 1 or 2 degrees.

You put a wheelchair on top of the table, sit in it, and stroke down on the CB from that high angle?

Haha, you're overestimating the influence of how a rotating cue tip effects a cue ball.

But I congratulate you on thinking outside the box!

Japanese trick shot player did it on a pool table when he masseyed
around 15 balls making the ball in the corner pocket

Im going to guess the cueball has something sticking out of it.
Nice try...but no. Probably falls under the banner of evenly weighted CB.. should also point out it is standard, perfectly symmetrical in shape will work... well, maybe not perfectly, nothing is, not sure if perfectly smooth surfaces grip on anything.

Colin

Grab a short cue, reverse your back hand and masse the snot out of it. It is kind of hard to fathom without seeing it in person.

Basically like the old Harley Davidson T shirt used to say "If I had to explain it you would not understand it."

No matter how much you jack up and masse, the spin on the cueball will have to change direction for it to go more then a half circle with one stroke.

I doubt that.... youtube or it didn't happen :D I've had a few drunken friends tell me they've seen someone do this kind of shot, and I never believed them.

Not with the conditions I've specified anyway.

Easy. Tape a string to the CB and tape the other end on the foot spot. A perfect circular arc every time.

I know that's probably not it, but I thought I'd try anyway.

I look forward to seeing you answer,
Dave

Is the path you drew to scale? Or did this happen in a tiny movement, just a few mm total distance?

And did it happen on the table where you drew it?

Fishing line attached to the cueball with the other end stuck to the table/cloth at the radius of the circle?

That's a great try Dave, but the CB is contacting nothing but the cloth surface during it's travel.
