Im not sure they like the behind the scenes drama that has happened in the past. Perhaps Shane could go to Taiwan and see how he fairs?
No chance this happens unless it's some kind of challenge match. Ko knows he can't beat Shane in a big gambling set so he won't play
I still like Little Ko but that is a far better match.
There was rumors that the CSI 10b challenge match they played(race to 23?) had 20K(each) on the line. Not sure if theres any truth in that.
Just curious what would be in it for those that set it up ?
I dont have the exact figures but it would work something like this:
$15/ppv 500 viewers = $7.5K.
Since they're already in the same location, there wouldnt be any extra traveling expenses involve. Maybe a couple nights extra hotel room.
$500 to loser, $1.5K to winner. Streamer keeps the rest minus setup cost.
Who knows, maybe they might get 1000+ viewers from China/Taipei to see their guy take on Shane.
Doesn't even cover their hotel and food expenses. I would think you would need at least $12,000 to winner and $6,000 looser or $20,000 winner take all with say $1,000 expense fee to both.
This is directly after the U.S Open 9-ball. They would be staying an extra day or two after the tournament. Hotel+food for a day is $150/guy.
The 500/1500 split is just to get action started as an appearance fee which is fairly generous. Where else can these guys play pool for 4-5hrs, no entry fee with a shot to win 1500? They can wager between themselves for more.
This match setup is not of an intent to pay Ko to fly over to the U.S to play Shane. Since he's already here for the tournament, stay an extra day or two after to play Shane. He might already have plans to stay a little bit after.

But most improtantly, what's the point of this match? So that more horse shit threads can be started on Az about who won "that" day or because of the race length, they on diamonds. Or is this really just to satisfy someone vicarious D measuring contest.
I feel that people need to live their own lives and leave Shane's alone. Too many people who know a bunch but prob never won a local yet.

Really? Seriously? Ko is a great player, but superior? I don't think so & I'm not a Shane fan boy.
I don't really believe Ko should have gotten past Wu & only by the grace of an abundance of rolls did he & that followed into the Final yesterday against Shane.
IMO Ko while a great player is far from being a superior player compared to any in the final 4, little Ko, Wu or Shane and in a winner break format gambling not only is he not superior, but he doesn't have to like it a bit.
Probably a good thing...

That's the worst you'll ever see Shane play and he still had a lead for most of the set. Ko simply can't match Shane's average or high gear.
