A thread is missing.

I'm Mad !

This is what happens when you have NO POPCORN in the cup-board !! What happened to the thread with the poll in it ?!? :(

It had sooo much color in it, I could see the fatwood being stacked for a banishment.

oh, Welcome back JB.

To the Dungeon! Ha Ha Ha!

Mike Howerton could you look into the Sam Lambert poll thread? It has gone missing and many of us put a lot of thoughtful discussion on it.

Yep to the Dungeon! Not surprised. I would suspect I know why but who knows? .....only the shadow do....Oooooooh!

It was an aiming discussion thread. Mike Howerton has specifically asked that aiming discussion (particularly extensive aiming discussion) only be done in the aiming forum he created specifically for it and is not allowed in the main forum (and has even specifically told you directly and you have gone round and round with him about it) because they are a very hot button issue that usually turn into flame wars. You more than literally anyone else on this site are aware of his "rule" about it because you were the biggest offender and had many run ins with him about it. You were even reminded about his feelings/rule on the topic in the very same thread you are playing dumb about. You also know that he has deleted or moved those threads in the recent past just about every time he found them and knew it was expected with this one.

Pretty obvious that this thread is just a thinly (way too thinly) veiled attempt to push Mike's buttons and maybe hope to raise a little public sentiment against him as a bit of "revenge" since you disagree so strongly with his position and are more affected by it than anyone as the biggest offender. Way too transparent and obvious with your attempt though.

Someone cue the theme from The Maverick------

OH Yeah.... he's back, and he's pushin buttons. LOL.

OK, for all those jonesing for the lost CTE tread, here you go:

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=208952

It's the very first thread in the then newly created Aiming Forum. It has it all, along with all the usual suspects -- diagrams, videos, Joey bleeding blue ink, the same old arguments back-and-forth, folks getting banned -- it's almost a 1,000 posts of CTE goodness.

Yes it has! No it hasn't!

And I just went to all the trouble to duplicate that guy's 5 shot video. I spent half my friggin' day off reading that thread and now it's gone. I thought there was some interesting stuff there including things I wanted to look into further. I didn't see any problems with the discussion, other than a hijacking of the original post, but what else is new?

Here is my non CTE version for what its worth...

https://youtu.be/VevvGAxOqNM

Also, John, the original guy missed more than one shot. He missed the 4th shot multiple times, and also missed the 5th.
Great shooting Dan! They might need you in the Mosconi Cup team!

John,

Did you not say in the Poll Thread that on your visit that some shots' solutions had to be found & then he owned them?

One does not get multiple tries in real games.

I find it difficult to believe that Stan would shoot the wrong solution.

Could you elaborate to clarify.

Thanks in advance.

Of course, there are about 63,000,0000 possible shots on a pool table. Not even Stan has shot all possible shots. Andreas Sattler (can be found on FB) and I spent two hours challenging Stan with different shots and Stan would either choose the correct aiming perception and either make the shot or miss it within a fraction of an inch OR he would be way off having chosen the wrong solution and then he would try another CTE solution and likely make it or miss by a tiny bit. (for the purpose of what we were doing missing by less than half and inch was fine although Stan did MAKE every shot within five tries at most).

You're right, in a game you get one shot. So therefore when you face one that you have never shot before you want the best chance to make it that you can get. My experience is that using CTE to aim with I can usually narrow my aiming choices down to two keys or even one by eliminating the ones that I know won't work for that shot. This gives me a 50% chance to pick an shot line that works.

As I told you I gamble often and this situation has come up many times over the years. CTE has pulled my ass out of the fire on such shots often.

I look at CTE as a set of master keys where one, maybe two will work for the shot being faced. Just cycle through the perceptions until you find the likely right one. The whole process takes less than 30 seconds.

System revisions?

Nope, not really...

Since 2010 the system visuals and the pivot have remained exactly the same.
In about 2013 I added the 45.......that is about all..

The framework of CTE PRO ONE has remained essentially unchanged since April of 2010.

Since 2010....I have studied the visuals and pivot nearly every single day in effort to truly understand everything visual as well as physical within the overall framework.

I am extremely proud of what I have uncovered during the past few years, particularly during the last year......

I think the pool world is going to be very pleased with what I further reveal that is inherent within the exact framework of what I have already presented....

Next year

Beginning no later than 1-2 months after my book release I will do one open day a month for one yesr in my teaching facility devoted primarily for a single purpose: To show that basic CTE does, in fact, take the player to shot lines.......This will not be lesson sessions but ONLY instructor directed presentations....

Also, during these presentations, I will demonstrate every aspect of CTE PRO ONE.....
This will be open to anyone....

My plans are for 2 sessions per open day.......

Likely 9-12 EST and 1-4 EST and I will do some evening sessions......and at least a day or two will be weekend days.....

** If there is no interest......then, obviously, my offer will be put aside.

Why would anyone want to use a system that you only make the ball 50% of the time or even of its just picking the right shot 50% of the time???

Sorry I wasn't clear. I was referring to shots the shooter has never faced before. A person who is proficient with Cte is 80-100% on most shots they face because of their knowledge and experience. On the rare occasions that they face some tough or weird shot they haven't learned then with CTE in my experience they have at least a 50% chance or better to pocket the ball because of the ability to assess it using CTE perceptions.

Oh there will be interest. On fact you will have to add more days.

Thanks, John.

Depending on how we define the different number of possible shots can be an interesting subject all on its own.

To me... there are only a base 90 as in the 90* on the 1/4 of the ball being hit, or would it actually be 89? I think one can rather easily see that basis & then go on to the many many many different shots that come off of any of those given degree outcomes.

Then you throw in english and squirt and jumps the numbers sky rocket even further.

If one visualizes a shot, it's a matter of determining which of the 90 options that matches that visualization. Naturally there is bit of leeway given pocket slop.

Thanks again for the clarification.

Don't forget they could also play safe.

Man, here you go again with your stuff...trying to start trouble.
That Barton man said not one single word to you and you get on your horsey routine about aiming.
Why don't you just put him on ignore so you don't see anything he posts or just sit down and shut it. You're whining like some old hissy woman. Grow up, ace.
Just my opinion.

GoldenFlash, you are spot on!

THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS ORIGINATE!

A shot they've never faced before? Er, what?

But you did forget about the five shot video when English brought it up.

No I didn't. I asked him to post the link to the one he meant. My apologies if I miss answering a particular point. Sometimes the posts contain so much commentary I don't answer each point anymore. I used to go through and break it down with contained quote tags but I hardly have the energy to spend on that anymore when it could all be nuked at any time.

That's why I have a rule on my forums that if a person starts a discussion thread and people spend time giving thoughtful replies and then the thread starter deletes it I will ban that user.

If you ever think I ignored a point you want my opinion on feel free to bring it up again and I will answer you.
