$20,000 Challenge to Lou Figueroa.

John, I have an offer for you if Lou won't bet the full 20K. I will come back there and play you 20K worth of short rack Banks (10K each), ten ahead. I literally have not played more than an hour of big table pool at any time in the last year and I'm dead out of stroke. But if I got a game like this it would motivate me to practice and get ready. I still like to challenge myself and see if I can still play a little. You asked me once before to play some Banks and now I'm accepting your offer.

I've never been to Jamaica Joe's or played on one of their tables, but if it's a 9' Diamond why not. This way you will be getting your full 20K worth of action, ten from Lou and ten from me. I actually have no idea how you play Banks, but I don't think you are a world beater or I would know about it. I've played a lot of pool in my life with guys I didn't know and that kind of makes it more challenging. I haven't played a game for over $100 in years so what the heck, let's go for it. I've always had more money than brains anyway.

P.S. I will bring cash!

That sounds like a great way to break even twice in one day.

Thank you. It's actually 2:2 in matches and in games played it's 9 for you and 8 for me.

I can understand why you are scared. You're a hundred ball runner, you cash all the time at DCC and you're a state champion. I flipped your backers and you a 10k tip for showing up and you don't want to ever have the chance to lose that status.

Totally get it. Savor it. I spend 10k on things like sewing machines and laser engravers and sometimes just a $1000 on a vacuum cleaner if I feel like it. I understand that for a guy like you living on the government teat having one 10k win in your life, even if you were backed, is a thrill you want to savor in the latter half of your life. It's cool with me.

Don't sweat it Lou. I figured that fear would be the primary reason you wouldn't jump on this. Of course you would be happy to play on someone else's money though so ethics isn't really part of your character.

Thank you for allowing me to keep this 20k and spend it on something that will make me much more money. If you don't accept by Friday I will send you some roses.

oh, OK. Let me fix that:

Lifetime score for when it counted and was for real money:

Lou: 1

John: BIG OL' FAT HONKIN' GOOSE EGG

better :-)

If you didn't care you wouldn't continue to go on on about it ,, Has it ever occurred to you Lou didn't play his best and that he shot down to your level instead of keeping his foot on the gas ,,
Lou came across the country with money in hand to take you up on your offer to go as high as 30 ,, good thing for you that the smartest thing you did in the whole ordeal was back out of that offer
Now it's Lou's turn to dictate the show , nice try though

Thank you, stroke.

I realize you are in the bottom of the ninth and you skids are greased, but what if. Suppose he had the bollas to come to St. Loui what could happen then. Dont stay under the portch because I want to hear a little barking too.

I've stated a counter offer a couple of times in this thread:

Non-negotiable is a non-starter.

Last time my crew and I flew out to NJ because that’s where you wanted to play. You wanted it streamed (and archived) from the Accu-Stats Arena so that the memory of the match “would be forever seared into your mind.” In fact, you paid Pat Fleming for the privilege and insisted it be a free stream so that hundreds could witness the beat down you'd put on me.

So if there’s going to be a another match, we will play where I want this time. My counter offer is: I will play for $10K, 6 ahead, here in St. Louis.

I will play — with the exception of just a couple of dates that I have something scheduled with Gail — anytime between Monday next week until the week before Thanksgiving. After that I’m traveling a lot and won’t be playing much pool.

But since your terms are non-negotiable we probably don’t have anything further to discuss.

John, If you truly want something to happen, be willing to negotiate. Otherwise It seems disingenuous. Also- saying you don't want drama this time, but quickly insulting Lou as "scared, etc" is not going to help IF you do actually want to play again. Please!! I would love to sweat this again. You have heart for sure and it was fun the first time. Without the drama I agree.

I have stated a counter offer and am willing to negotiate. There is no reason why we can't come to a simple, clear agreement. But non-negotiable is a non-starter.

Lou Figueroa

The offer is fair and simple. There is no need to negotiate. The guy blasted me in a dozen ways prior to the match and flat out lied about me afterward.

I don't even want to have any back and forth on terms. As for him being scared, he is.

That's a fact as I see it and not an insult. If I were in his shoes I'd be scared as well. Not because I didn't think I have the best of it, he does, but scared of the possibility that I could lose and what that would mean psychologically. I think that fear of his ego being bruised is the real problem. That's only my opinion of course.

Nothing I asked for is out of line in any way. His backer from the first match is probably salivating and begging Lou to accept.

My counter is fair and simple. If you truly wanted to play you would negotiate. But obviously you don't.

Correction. Backing out of the 30 grand bet was the smartest thing Karen did.

:-) I agree with everything you said. I wouldn't bet on me either if I were not me. And I have said repeatedly that CTE wasn't the problem even though Lou and others wanted desperately to cast it that way. (that's why Lou will NEVER play Stan)

As for not looking fatigued....I was pretty pumped full of adrenaline during the first part of the match due to my own stupidity for engaging someone I shouldn't have messed with.

Anyway, it's water under the bridge and 18 months later.

I have 20k to throw away and Lou is scared to come and get it even though he should not be.

I'm not scared of playing you under the provisos of mutually agreed to terms. You apparently are.

Lou Figueroa

I'm sure Lou will be trying to cash again there's.bigger fish to add to the status plate than JB it's not always about the money
I'd much rather beat a named player for less then a no name for more , I'm sure Lou looks at it the same way

To me there's no status in beating JB.

Lou Figueroa

I'd LOVE to...

Meanwhile there was about 3000 pages of discussion leading up to the match, after about 13,000
pages of discussion on the merits, or total lack of, Hooligan based Aiming Systems.
Followed by about 1001 pages of discussions of the match, its outcome, and implications

Please try to get out more and learn to search...

All you need to play Lou is to agree to my terms and we will then have mutual agreement. You're correct I am afraid to come to St. Louis to play you and especially not a six ahead set. And your dates don't work for me anyway even if I did want to consider changing my offer. But I don't.

Let ego lose you this money just like it lost you the chance to play for 20 last time.

I am not going through the hassle to negotiate with you when you are the better player.

You should have simply said yes. You still can.
