I go down looking at the cue ball.
If your getting those results then you need some more practice and understanding of the visuals.

Maybe I am doing something wrong. Here's what I do:

The cue ball is on the head string one diamond from the side rail. The ob is at center table, one diamond from the side pocket as shown in Stan's 5 perception video 2. So the two balls are parallel to the side rail.

I stand upright and move left and right a little until it looks like the left edge of the cue ball lines up with "A," which is the left side of the vertical stripe on a centennial ball (1/2 way between center and edge of ob). If I am in the right spot, it will also look like the center of the cue ball passes through the right edge of the ob to give me the "CTE" line. Now, I fix my position as well as possible, and while looking at the cue ball, I get down into shooting position. I place my hand such that the cue tip is a 1/2 tip to the left of center cue ball (the right edge of the tip lines up with the centerline of the cue ball). Then I pivot my back hand so that the tip points at the center of the cue ball. Or, if I'm practiced enough at it, I can simply come down into the shot in this position. I am not doing that at this point.

When I shoot straight through the cue ball, without even necessarily looking at the ob, the ob goes into the side rail no where near the corner pocket. It goes closer to the side pocket.

What am I doing wrong?

You know where the pocket is - Stan's curtain trick shows this in spades, and you even have your peripheral vision to help.

And you're underestimating the abilities of the subconscious. It does 99.999% of all our moment-to-moment computations, plus runs and regulates all our biological "equipment", even while we're sleeping - all without our even being aware of it. The conscious mind that we're so proud of isn't even in the same galaxy with its pure computational power.

pj <- we think we're in charge... lol
chgo
Then any decent player should be able to easily bank ten balls on a tight ten foot table with a curtain in the way like Stan did.

Let's see it.

John,

Can you direct me to a video of Stan doing that & were they random balls just thrown out onto the table or were they specifically set up shots?

Best Wishes.

Also, this thing about, "Well look at what Stan can do so it must work..." is silly. Stan is a professional player and can make any shot with a broom stick. His ability to execute shots comes from his dedication to the game, NOT NECESSARILY due to CTE. Even in one of Stan's videos he said that he's been playing for a loooong time so he just knows when a certain visual isn't the right one.

Mohrt thank you for the phone call. Cte just went from 99% objective to 99.99% objective. Thank you Stan for all your hard work.

I am not up to date on what Stan says but my pivot on that shot is right to left.

I've already answered you, I think yesterday.

Given the previous post there's no point to try to explain it again.

You think you are seeing different lines depending on where the balls are positioned on the table.

I'd like you to explain the science that allows & makes that possible.

Best Wishes.

The question remains, when is the subjective adjustment done?

Please see my previous posts to Neil & also Duckie Greg's post.

You've already seen PJ's

Best Wishes.

PS You never did answer my question regarding whether or not you are related to Neil in any way. Are You?

Yep seen the posts. They contain no answers to my question.
No not related to Neil but would be honored to shoot some pool with him and have a drink someday.

Correct Dan.

Stan has a file base in his subconscious that was built over a long period of time & with much labor put into obtaining it.

Granted he has played very good pool for a long time however the VISUAL he is talking about is the CTE visual.

How about as soon as your subconscious mind knows that the shot you intend is NOT a perfect fit for the objective 'Edge To' line that you've just chosen along with the CTE line.

You seem to not even understand what objective is, just like Neil.

Best Wishes.

Nice guess but no way that's possible.

Anybody that can pocket balls well with center and outside center knows how full of it you are.;) There's not an aiming system that is half as objective as you think.

Its one thing to help out a friend but to mislead like you do is just wrong.

CTE is strong and what I have presented is quite correct, BUT what I currently know about CTE has steadily become 10 times stronger than it was 6 years ago.

CTE is strong! And it is going to get 10 times stronger and a thousand times more popular until one day it becomes the standard.

No one will stop what I know from spreading around the world.

CTE....just.another system? Lol that is a joke of a thought.

Just like the labor he has put into his visual intelligence with CTE.

Please define visual intelligence in no uncertain nor subjective terms.

It has not been defined by Stan nor anyone else that I know of.

It's just a concocted phrase to use instead of learned subconscious subjectivity.

Intelligence is in the mind & is not a visual thing. The two words have no REAL association with one another other than one's ability to interpret what might be a visual illusion of some kind & that is not a visual intelligence but simply intelligence which seems to be lacking on the CTE side of these 'CTE wars'.

As PJ has stated you & others highly underestimate the subconscious mind. As I have said before, the visual image is upside down on the retina of our eyes just as it is with a camera & it is our subconscious minds that turn that over so that we recognize it appropriately, so we would reach for something in the proper direction, etc. NASA did experiments with goggles that reversed what the test individuals saw regarding up & down & over time the subconscious mind turn that back around & when the goggles were removed the test individuals actually saw up side down & over time the subconscious mind again reverse the recognition.

A truly objective 'system' would not take such time but would work right out of the box for ANYONE with a straight stroke.

I'm beating a dead horse here with you because you think you can see different CTE & 'Edge to' lines depending on where the balls are on the table. You have no clue what objective is.

OR... you are just being disingenuous.

Best Wishes.

Actually i'm beginning to think you should be the only poster here.
"I think " does not mean you know it all. Your opinion is just that but keep ramming it down our throats.
You are wrong in every way imaginable about CTE. Yes, you have no clue about it.
Just happy i'm visually intelligent and understand this objective aiming system
