I love how people market cues on this site.

Every cue for sell "shoots amazing" "plays great" and lets not forget "shoots the lights out", if these cues for sale were any of the above they wouldn't be for sale.

Just saw another.

BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL

When I was a kid, Kmart used to have an actual blue light. They would announce BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL in housewares.

You would get trampled if you were near the flashing Blue Light.

My biggest pet peeve is sellers that offer a "fantastic price" on a new cue, that is the exact same, or slightly higher than every advertised price on the same cue all over the internet. Don't waste my time telling me about the great deal you're giving me, when I can look on Seyberts, and find the same cue for 5% less. Sheesh.

The other pet peeve....if your cue has been for sale longer than a few weeks at your current price, and your cue hasn't sold....you have one of two issues. Either your cue is undesirable, or your price is too high. The remedy for both issues is a lower price. If you lower the price, and there's no bites, you haven't gone low enough. There is a huge difference between price and value. You may THINK your cue is worth $3k, but if there's no one buying it, the market is telling you otherwise.

There is more to understanding the market than just price.

The negative factors influencing the cue market are
1) a lack of buyers,
2) a lack of new collectors,
3) the economy in general, and
4) a lack of new players.

You can slash the price of a $2,000 cue in half, but if there are no buyers it still won't sell.

The only way a cue sells immediately is if there is a buyer looking for that cue at the moment it is advertised or if the price is so ridiculously low that someone will grab it hoping to sell it at a profit in the future.

Test chalked

Test chalked only?

Personally because I have bought and sold a few cues in my life I would prefer that the cue maker test the cues before ever shipping them to me.
Because I much rather have any issues that is possible be know at the cue makers shop or factory then after they are shipped to me.

A little chalk on the tip doesn't bother me at all.........
And I can give the customer my opinion on how the cue actually plays.

I have sold a few cues that really played exceptional , 2 of them were made of Goncarlo Alves .

Last thing I would want would be having a unhappy customer just because I didn't care enough to at least test drive the cue .......

I can understand and respect opinion, but in all honesty wouldn't you want someone to sale you a cue that was worried more about you liking the way the cue played then a little chalk on the tip.

I don't know of any one selling pool cues that will not allow a future customer not test drive a cue before they sale it.

Man, those was the good ol' days of Kmart... Now the stores are closing for business...whoever was in charge of sales&marketing back then at kmart knew what they were doing.

I love it when someone is selling a cue and you ask how it hits and they say "well hit is subjective" That means it hits like a dead dog. LOL

I haven't seen my hyperbole approach yet...youse guys are conservative.
I was a car trunk guy for a few years...also had show cases in a bunch of rooms.

If somebody asked me if a cue played good...I would say..
"GOOD?....I left it lying on a table yesterday...it ran a five-pack all by itself."
