Cenntennial, Anniversary, Gold Crown 1, 2, and 3 frames, how flat do think they are

Dale, it was called Stevens 22oz, super weave and it was thicker than Simonis 760, there was no 860 at that time. Other cloths used at that time was Charles House, Warren, and Mali, and most of the cloth back then has a rayon backing on the cloth, even Simonis 760 was available with the rayon backing, so no, the cloth was slower back then. I've been playing pool since 1968, and working on pool tables since 1983, I'm sure I have more experience with the types of cloth used on pool tables than you do since this has been my skilled trade business over 32 years.

Well you statements just happen to prove that you don't

Tho you are pretty good at spouting irrelevant data instead of answering a question.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Well the people who sold it to me referred to it as "Stevens 100% wool<unbacked>.
The point is it was just as unforgiving to slate imperfections as 860.

AS I suspected, you selectively remember only the tables intended to caters to bangers
while the gazillion places you never saw you choose to pretend never existed.

My '74 el camino SS gets 18mpg (combined city/highway) which is better than half of a civic...and I'm much faster than a civic (0-60, cornering might be closer).

My 1949 chev hot rod truck is even faster than the camino and corners at least as well.

Ah yes, the El Camino - I had a '76 in the '80s, just an unleaded gas drive to work and
tote pool tables around vehicle. I drove it till the doors fell off:)

I regret every day not fixing it up and keeping it.

They are fun. The 73-77 body style is relatively rare to see in decent condition anymore, body parts are pretty scarce...I can build my '49 out of aftermarket body panels, but it's difficult to find panels for Cammy.

I like the old cars because I can fix everything on them. I put the '49 together the first time with my old man when I was in HS.

classic/antique tables are just like classic/antique cars.
they are a culturally rich representation of the designs, tastes, and technology of their era.

most certainly "the new" can be built somehow better than the old, but on the other hand, certain designs and styles can be timeless, and need no improvements at all.

people love a 57 Chevy because its a 57 Chevy.
who cares if a Honda civic can run rings around it using 3/4 less gas.

Well for your information MR. Bond, some of us don't happen to care to follow behind that classic 57' Chevy, when the oil smoke coming out of the exhaust chokes you out, matter of fact, the state don't care to much for it either when the Chevy won't pass the emissions test...and therefore won't reissue a new registration;) so on that note, like Mark and I say all the time, just because a table is old, and it's a classic, that don't mean it has to play old, and like shit compared to today's pool tables;)

Talk about trying to derail a thread....isn't there a car forum you can go join?

I've never had to take my classics through an emissions test and I live in a strict state.

Oh, even Cali doesn't require emissions/smog tests on pre-1975 vehicles.

I enjoyed playing from 1956, to 1974 on Centennial (1) & Anniversary (2) Snooker tables. We didn't know what roll-off was. I never seen a ball roll funny. That was in the Centennial Social Club in downtown Arlington, TX

Hmmm, well I guess I'm at a loss then in understanding what you mean by bangers, because the 9fts I worked on had the likes of many world champions playing on them and for big money no less, a lot stood in line to play Harry Plattis for thousands per game....yeah, bangers:eek:

This is a pool forum, who gives a shit about your cars, into thread derailing to I see.;)

Why don't you, ELCORAZONFRIO and pdcue' go play together somewhere else, or is it your sole intent to try and derail my thread, because there are a lot of other AZB members on here that do happen to enjoy my posts, as they are very informational to pool tables they DO own, unlike you guys:rolleyes:

Or is the truth of the matter, that neither of you have any respect for the AZB members that do care about my posts, and would rather rob them of a post they're interested in seeing and reading about, ...than be grown men and shut your mouths, bitting your lip, or what ever you have to do....to avoid conflicts like this, or do you both just have a need to be the center of attention in my threads?

Hey, guy, this all started because I asked a question and you called me stupid instead of being the 'contributor' and answering my question.

Now I'm doing it for fun.

Your question to me about how flat are Diamond tables has noting to do with this thread, that's why it was a stupid question and don't deserve an answer. In this thread, I've been talking about inherent problems to the frame design of the pre GC4's, with the same basic frame design and no where did I bring up a Diamond table for comparison...did I? I didn't being up Olhausen, Connelly, Gabriels, Gandy....or any other manufacturer of pool tables either, so your QUESTION was OFF TOPIC, and therefore didn't deserve an answer....got it? I'm not comparing pool tables, I'll let you do that all you want. I'm conversing with those that DO own Gold Crowns, not Diamonds....or any other pool table. ...do you understand now?;)
