Ball return concerns?

I'm looking at a Gold Crown V from an individual, but it's got a ball return. Any reason to steer clear? - mechanical problems down the road, or marking balls or such?

Just asking...

Table

You'll be ok, I think the GC ball return will be fine for you. Sometimes a ball hops out of the track but not game changing.

You can always take the ball return off and just install drop pockets.

I have a GC3 and love the ball return. I would prefer one that does have a ball return as I consider it a selling feature if i ever decide to move the table. The only issue I have had with mine is that a ball pops out in one of the side pockets one out of every 50 or so shots. Im sure i could rig something up to extend the lip on the bottom of the pocket if it was ever a real concern.

Also, like the Rev said.....you can put in drop pockets if you ever decide to.

I also love my ball return in my GCII, I still do not understand why people take them out and replace them with drop pockets.

You say that like I would know how to do that, or ever where to get replacement pockets, or as if it would not cost $$ even if I knew these things. Besides, I don't work on pool tables, or pretty much on anything.

Anyway - please consider the OP - not asking if people like them or if I can get rid of them - just asking if they have any problems I should be aware of.

Apparently the only issue is that they do drop balls on occasion.

If you get it and don't want the ball return system I can make a video for you on how to remove it and replace the pockets. All you need is a screw driver to remove the tracks and Allan key to remove the pockets.

That said, I believe you will be very happy with the ball return system and it should make the table easier to sell if you decide to in the future
