Kudos to "Calamba Alcano" for placing second in the 2015 All Japan Open. People were wondering if you still play in tournaments. It's very seldom that we hear about you this day.

The all Filipino Finals was something to watch.

Ronny, my absolute favorite!
Still a bit in the shadow of Efen and Busty, but at least the same level.

Keep it up ... please!!!!!!!!

I watched Alcano some years back when he was hanging out at Hardtimes in Los Angeles. He was giving up ridiculous weight, sometimes in games he was totally unfamiliar with, like one pocket.

He just wanted to play, whether it was for a couple of bucks or a couple of thousand bucks, he didn't care, just so he was in action. It was exhilarating to watch, a man in tune with his stroke, challenging himself to soar to the highest levels of pool.

if you watched the finals yesterday in All-Japan, the first few racks were flawless! Alcano put the cueball anywhere he wanted to, very accurately.
matibay pa rin.

Do you know if there's a recoding of the finals on YouTube or anywhere else? I watched the semis and missed the finals :frown:

Thats the Ronnie Alcano when he first came to the US and played around the CT/NJ/NY area. In addition to action, he also played the Joss tour, which is a very strong regional tour. Usually, the person that wins a Joss stop, is a top player. Ronnie finished second, in his first tourney, then won, like, 4 in a row...

That's how you improve....get in the wrong game and test yourself. No better way.

Like giving King Kong the 5-out and beating him?
KK said Efren didn't even give him that kind of spot.
