But this format is all about team play and team dynamics. We get to see one on one pool every other week of the year. Can't we enjoy the one week where the greatest team tourney of the year takes place ?

I get it. We lost. There was some crappy rolls, and we as fans bemoaned "our" luck. We're supposed to complain. That's what being a fan vs being indifferent to our sport is all about. But let's enjoy the amazing event we just had the pleasure to be part of.

On to the Derby City Classic, where race to 7, winner breaks is even a worse format, but I love it!

Fighting can get someone killed. These guys was just given 10K/20K each without putting up any risk.

If they want to determine who is better, put up 3K and play a 2-3hr race to 21.

I get that Europe is better overall than Team USA.

But lets see some one on one action.

Sky vs Albin Ouschan race to 21 for 5K and see who is better. Albin won 5-4 with Sky getting a bad roll says nothing about who is the better player.

Not that I don't think Albin isn't a world class player. Guy played great. It's just that with this format it say nothing about if individually X is a better player than Y on that day.

when sky has won a China open event with a world class international field, we can talk about him playing Albin

I agree 100%. The flying spaghetti monster blesses America. USA USA USA. The worst thing about this Mickey Mouse event is that over the last 66 races to 5, the only reason the US lost, is the rolls. So unlucky, Unfreakinbelievable.

The real measure of skill btw is a race to 10000. Nobody in Europe wants to play any American. Just let them put up a hundred dollars of their own money plus 10k from their backers and those damn commies are crapping their pants.
