Thank you, Barry Hearn!

Mosconi Cup is the creme de la creme in the pool world. Through thick and thin, Mr. Hearn has continued to produce one of the best sporting events I've ever witnessed. This year's Mosconi Cup exceeded my expectations.

The delivery, music, the commentary, the players' shirts, the audience, it was absolutely brilliant.

I couldn't watch all of it, due to work, but what I was able to watch was exciting and some of the best pool I've seen in a long time. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, it was all there. Every single player on both teams gave it their all!

Congratulations to Team Europe, and congratulations to Team USA. Thank you, Matchroom Sport and Barry Hearn for making this happen. Bravo!

Plus, he likes country music and is an angler.

Here's a cool insight into the man: An Evening with Barry Hearn

I actually think he's having a good time too, shown here with Ronnie.

Agreed, Barry & Matchroom are as good as it gets.

If Bergman hadn't snookered himself on the final 8 it would have
become a nailbiter, that's how close it was. That one failed position
made it so Europe was on the hill and could relax a little.

A man who came from a humble background. How did the son of a cleaner and a bus driver come to be worth £45m?

Read all about it --> Barry Hearn: King of the Working Class.

A young Barry Hearn with Alex.

EDT: A young Barry Hearn with Steve Davis.

That's Steve Davis isn't it?

I create a thread of gratitude and that's the only thing you can come up with.

Yes, I stand corrected. It is Steve Davis.

I'm going to work. This place sucks for pool.

It is because of members like you that this forum is what it is. Keep on keeping on.

We can rip apart the whole industry, and then everybody will be happy.

I agree, he deserves praise for all he does for the game.

For sure! It is, without a doubt, *the* most exciting event in pool. Every single pro player in the United States or Europe is proud to serve on that team and love every minute of it.

True. There were a lot of close matches, which made this year's Cup so thrilling!

You're so right, JAM! Barry has hung with this format and this year's was the best one yet!

Bumping up a thread, one of the few on this so-called pool-related forum that gives praise to what was a magnificant Mosconi Cup presentation this week.

Hopefully, it won't get lost in the negativity fray of numerous negative threads about people not liking the coach, not liking the commentators, not liking the shirts, not liking Team USA players, not liking this, not liking that.

Put it into perspective JAM. If you look at other sports fan forums all they do is criticize the coaches and the refs and the players and the commentators. That's what people do when they're involved. It's a good thing, even if it's hard to see that. It would be a little ridiculous if all people did was talk admiringly about everyone and everything in pool.

Except this is the premier event in pool. It is not just another tournament.

This forum of filled with Negative Nellies. It's hard to read sometimes. That's why some of us spent more time on Facebook these days. There's a lot of good reading about the Cup on Facebook. Here, on a pool-related forum, it is people trying to take down good industry people, some of whom are anonymous trolls and cantankerous people who have nothing better to do than hang out on AzBilliards and raise hell.
