Select Mosconi Cup members based on "prior year"

Here is an idea I don't think I've read thus far...

For the Dec 2016 Mosconi Cup, select players based on their 2015 calendar year performance.
For the Dec 2017 Mosconi Cup, select players based on their 2016 calendar year performance.
....and so on....

Or, it could be something like "based on the prior running 3 years performance". The main thing though is the team is nailed down 12 months prior to the event.

What this will do, is give Mark a full calendar year with the team to work on their individual games, team games, set up exhibitions, etc. Basically it will give 1 year with the team, instead of 6 weeks.

Thoughts?

It might give them a little more time to practice together when time permits but the key n that is as time permits. Mosconi is the biggest exhibition for us but with the ways pro's travel all over to play and other pros only play select events it would still be hard to nail down times. It would just give us more time to complain about who should have been in, why someone shouldn't be in or how bad someone is doing the week/month before the Mosconi.

They already tried something similar his first year.

He basically named his top 10 or so candidates, and then spent the better part of the year with them before making the final cuts.

I see the difference in that and what you're suggesting, just not sure how big of a difference it really is.
