Make it Happen Talk 12/15

I think there is a final playoff between the top two finishers regardless of what happens.

Unless they change the rules this year
Last year, Darren was undefeated and won all 5 matches. The nearest guys only won 3 out of 5 matches and there was no playoff final

Last year's results-
Darren Appleton: 5 Wins, 0 Losses
Francisco Bustamante and Earl Strickland: 3 Wins, 2 Losses
Alex Pagulayan: 2 Wins, 3 Losses
Shane Van Boening and Mika Immonen: 1 Win, 4 Losses

I wish Shane would talk some crap like he's beaten Darren so many times in a row like Darren did at last year's Mosconi cup. That's not like Shane though.

Yes, Pat addressed this in the letter to supporters, to make an even 16 matches, a final match was scheduled between the two players with the best record on Sunday night.

I like this added finals better. During the 8 ball, a final match between Darren and busta would've been excellent with both players playing strong that evening.

Billy just mentioned Darren stated he will be taking a break from pool after this tournament with his neck problems. Time to heal.

What are the payouts for this event? $1000 per win?

Yes, $1,000 for each win.
I thought there was a $3 k check waiting the winner of the 8 ball invitational last year, but I just reread Pet's letter and there isn't a mention of a winners check, so I think the $1 K each win is it.

Just as Shane makes the finals by getting to 10, Darren starting to make a move.
Darren now with ball in hand down 7-10

The real Darren showed up . Came back from 5-10 down to win. What a match! :D

Shane had a 6-game lead at 10-4. Critical errors were his two scratches on the break. After the first one, Darren ran out the game. After the second one, Darren ran out the game and then three more games (B&R's) to end the match.

Kudos to Darren for succeeding in a match of renewal after yesterday's showing.

I say Hohmann deserves it to be in the final.. He played awesome! Not that the others don't but..... just my impression
