I set up a series recording when I recorded this past Sunday's women's billiards.

It's already picking up basically the same 3 hours of the "Men's Challenge of Champions".

Sunday 12/20 11:00 a.m. through 2 p.m.

Same as before, I'm using Direct TV, ESPN2HD, and my Colorado guide is shown in Mountain time.

The men are on again at 5pm on Jan 3.

Niels Feijen
SVB
Thorsten Hohmann
Albin Ouschan

Are you picking that up with the same series recording??? i.e. ESPN2HD series recording for "Billiards"?

These four are the ones who participated in the event. I found the article on AZB via a google search.

Niels Feijen
SVB
Thorsten Hohmann
Albin Ouschan

(consider this a clue) ;-)

Wow, the sudden death final rack was the worst I have seen from top level professionals.

Actually kind of nice to see that everyone is susceptible to pressure.

Yeah, I saw that too. Shane dogged the 6 up the rail, pretty routine shot. After that I figured Albin would win for sure. Albin played terrible position on the 7 causing a tougher but makeable shot on the 8, he misses the 8 by 4 or 5 inches. WOW!
Shane ends up winning....

Albin made more mistakes in that final match than I have ever seen him make. It was very "questionable". The position for that 7 made zero sense. The shot on the 7 to the 8 made zero sense. He only needed 1 rail. After all these shots I was convinced he was going to miss the easy 8 ball. I would have put money on it. He did miss it, horribly. I'm almost certain that he threw the match.

I've never seen him play before, but threw the match ? Looked like pressure affected both as they both started missing and playing sloppy as the match went on.

Winner take all tournament of 4 top pro players televised, finals going to sudden death.

Does anyone know what the payout was ?

You're almost certain? I hope you never get called for jury duty.

They both played so bad in that last sudden death game that it looked like they were both trying to throw the match. Not that they were, just nerves I guess.
Hard to understand how that happens to them. They both are proven champions that hold up well under pressure and win grueling events against the best players in the world. SVB's game under pressure and gambling is legendary. Albin Ouschan has been the world #1.
It does take a little of the pressure off the rest of us I guess. We're all human and we all feel pressure.

Congrats to Shane.

No I don't think so. More so a nervous young man on TV with dream of winning this title since he was a kid succumbed to pressure of the situation. Europeans don't dump.

Let's not forget that Darren Appleton recently missed a shot with ball in hand during the King's Cup.

They are all human.

I remember that; the OB was maybe a foot out from a corner pocket, and Darren hit a soft roller while leaning out over the table. Memorable shot.:)

the sudden death game was terrible.
Just shows you that even the best dog their brains out at times.
