It's pronounced Efren!

Is it such a big deal that it is worth calling a champion of our sport stupid? Mute your volume if you can't take it.
You're missing my point entirely. Sigel isn't stupid...I said he sounded stupid. Surely you know the difference. And Am I supposed to give Mike more respect because he's a champion than he does? Isn't it a bit silly that he was asked to commentate and didn't learn how to pronounce another champion's name? Sheesh. So quick to attack.

seriously? You wasted a thread on this? Someone needs a life I think

Seriously? You wasted your time to bash me because you, in your all powerful wisdom, deemed it unfit for you? Who really needs a life? Jerk.

I'm with Rich on this one.
Not bothering to learn how to pronounce one of the game's icons is disrespect.
....a nick name is fine, but not taking the trouble to find that Efren's name ends with 'N' is
not only ignorant, but I suspect a little deep-rooted resentment.
Maybe if Mike was called Seagull he might get the message.

Cliff Thorburn, Canada's premier snooker icon, has his name spelled occasionally with an
extra 'N' in the center. I've spoke to a few people marking the tournament sheet....
...."Cliff Thorburn is the best snooker player in Canada's history. Do you think you
could spell his name right?"
A few times the misspeller has gotten a bit snarky "I can't spell anyways, what's the big deal?"
So I ask them "Why are you doing the sheet?"

Cliff would never say anything, but I suspect he appreciates my complaints.

Thanks PT....glad you understood my point. Some people just love to pounce. They were probably bullies when they were kids.

Jim Wyche has been doing it for years.

I'll be tapping Jimmy on the shoulder for that one...

You know the one that makes me go ballistic?
Up here, many people call, IMO, the greatest cue maker that ever lived...Szamboni...
....that's the name of the ice cleaning machine at hockey games...

A whole passel of 'em know it's Szamboti....now....:D
